Woah, woah, woah. This food news has flown under our radar for way too long. Sour Patch Kids ice cream exists and we’re so mad we didn’t know about this sooner. In 2016, Baskin-Robbins partnered with Sour Patch Kids to create the limited-edition Sour Patch Redberry Blast ice cream. But now Sour Patch Kids ice cream has become mainstream and we’re literally the heart-eyed emoji right now.
Delish.com reported on April 10th that Sour Patch Kids “Red, White, & Blue” ice cream was rumored to hit grocery store shelves in the coming months. A few lucky food bloggers got to taste the concoction before everyone else and shared their thoughts.
Instagram food blogger JunkFoodMom stated that the icy treat is actually a combination of vanilla ice cream and lemon sorbet.
“If Sour is what you’re looking for it’s here. The combo ice cream/sorbet works great and has a tart lemon flavor,” JunkFoodMom wrote in the caption of her April 8th post. She also noted that the “Blue Bitz” are small pieces of actual Sour Patch Kids. However, the super sour flavor comes from the raspberry swirl. “Yikes — if you get a spoonful of it I guarantee your face will pucker up,” JunkFoodMom added. Sour ice cream? Interesting.

On April 11th, Delish.com noted that Walmart confirmed that “Red, White, & Blue” will be sold exclusively at their nationwide locations. The word is officially out and Sour Patch Kids ice cream is seemingly at the top of everyone’s to-try list.
Even JunkFoodMom picked up another tub for herself. Going back for seconds is always a sign of a good flavor.
We’d love to stay and chat, but we have to get to a Walmart ASAP. This Sour Patch Kids ice cream is only sticking around until the end of the year, and for $3.48 a tub, we’re planning on stockpiling.
