Breakfast for Dinner: How to Do It Right

There is nothing more tasty than a big stack of waffles for your dinner!

Who can forget those classic evenings when there was nothing around the house to eat, so we took out some eggs, bacon, and pancake mix, and got to breakfast cooking at night! Sometimes it’s as simple as pouring up a big bowl of cereal, but the sentiment is the same. Looking for dinner ideas can be hard, and breakfast is without a doubt a simple solution. It’s fun, it’s easy, and it’s a good way to make use of your food. Get creative and make a breakfast pizza or sunrise tacos, but just remember, the most important thing is the most important meal of the day, not the time you eat it!

Cereal

Now it may take a bowl or two, but cereal is certainly a great option when you need to improvise with breakfast at dinnertime. You can have your cereal hot like oats heated up with fruit, or you can serve it classic-cold style, a bowl of cereal finished with your choice of milk. Today, almond milk is by far becoming one of the most popular milks to use in cereal, due mainly to the low caloric content of the milk, and its relative taste to traditional cow-milk. Some popular cereals include Fruity Pebbles, Honey Nut Cheerios, Waffle Crisp, and Raisin Bran, but the options really are endless. And if you use almond milk, there’s no harm in an extra bowl! It is after all breakfast at dinner, enjoy yourself!

Pancakes

Pancakes are another great option for breakfast at dinner. Pancakes are such a versatile food, with all the toppings you can put in and on top of them. The most popular styles are blueberry pancakes and chocolate chip-banana pancakes. It is not a bad thing to include a big portion of butter on top and of course don’t forget the maple syrup! While the name brand classics always are good for budgets and quick easy squeezes, there is just something about real maple syrup that makes the pancakes taste that much better. You really do get your money’s worth. Another popular topping these days is maple butter which is a delicious mix of the two elements in one jar. Stack em tall and stack em high, pancakes are an always-tasty option for dinner!

The Meat and Potatoes…and Eggs

What’s great about breakfast as we have mentioned is it’s versatility. You can go so many different routes with it which is what is so great about it. That being the case, let’s talk about a classic, eggs, potatoes, and eggs. This is a go-to breakfast meal, typically served with a piece of toast. Its a great way to introduce a bunch of different flavors and textures to the table while also serving a balanced meal. We highly recommend putting some jelly on that toast so you can get the savory and the sweet!

Smoothies, Blends, and Bowls

There is nothing more refreshing in the morning than a fresh fruit smoothie. Whether you are using fruits and veggies, or making a delicious dessert Strawberry Shortcake shake. You can also always make a smoothie bowl where you combine the fresh components of a smoothie on top of the smoothie base in the bowl itself. It is a delicious combination of different textures. Alway’s be sure to throw in a straw, it always taste better going through a straw!

And For Dessert

To wrap things up, we took a look at a couple different avenues you could go down when it comes to having breakfast for dinner. Any way you go, you are going to have a delicious and unforgettable meal. Use it as a fun cooking opportunity with your little ones, or get creative and do something different. There is nothing whackier than breakfast at night!
