This Woman Was Fired For Bringing Laxative Brownies To A Co-Worker’s Farewell Party

By now, you’ve probably realized that you can’t get along with everyone. It’s a nice thought to be a friend to the world, but not very practical. But just because you may be sparring with a co-worker doesn’t give you permission to, say, try to give them a case of the runs. A woman, who hasn’t been officially named, was actually fired for bringing laxative-infused brownies to a goodbye party at work, and I’m just glad I’m not her cubicle-mate. It’s super hard to turn down a brownie.

Here’s the scoop. The shady baker was a 47-year-old employee who worked at an undisclosed engineering company in Michigan.

The party was to say farewell to a colleague, who — I’m guessing — she’s not super fond of. So, she chose to give this colleague a goodbye to remember by adding laxatives to the brownies.

Luckily, nobody ate the compromised treats. The woman must have blabbed about it to another coworker because the baker was questioned about the brownies prior to any of them being enjoyed. (Phew.)  According to Fox, police were called after receiving a tip from someone in the office. While she initially denied tampering with the recipe in any way, she caved and told the truth when she heard her brownies were going to be officially tested.

The woman confessed to baking a “cube” of laxatives in with the dessert, which is pretty awful. I’m guessing she liked the coworker she confided in and perhaps told him or her to steer clear when the brownies made their debut. Because otherwise, her plan would have literally ruined the day of everyone she worked with.

After being found out, she was fired for the incident. Rightfully so. Let’s just hope this story doesn’t cause you to avoid brownies at your next company picnic.
