Genius Recipes To Make With That Tiny Bit Of Leftover Food

We’ve all been there before where we’re left with a weird amount peanut butter or chocolate sauce in the jar. Don’t know what to do with the leftovers? Instead of throwing them out, try using them to create your own frosting or soft-serve at home.

Strawberry Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp strawberry jelly
  • ¼ cup Powdered Sugar

Preparation:

  1. Add the heavy cream and powdered sugar to your leftover strawberry jelly.
  2. Shake until you have a frosting-like mixture.
  3. Use the cap of the jelly container to make ribbons or any other pattern onto your cake.

Cheesecake for one

Ingredients:

Cheesecake Batter:

  • 3 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp vanilla pudding mix
  • ¼ cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 packet of sugar
  • ½ tsp of vanilla extract

Crust:

  • ¼ cup Crushed Graham Crackers
  • 1 tbsp Butter

Preparation:

  1. Mix together the cream cheese, pudding mix, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla until a smooth batter forms.
  2. Mix together crushed graham crackers and butter in a separate bowl and sprinkle over the cheesecake batter.
  3. Press the crumble into the cheesecake mixture and chill for 2 hours.
  4. Flip the cheesecake container over onto a plate. Squeeze the sides of the container to release the cheesecake.
  5. Finish with any topping of your choice and enjoy!

Speedy Soft Serve

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp chocolate sauce

Preparation:

  1. Pour heavy cream into a Torenti bottle with 2 tbsp of chocolate sauce inside.
  2. Shake until you have a smooth whipped cream-like texture.
  3. Freeze for at least 30 minutes. For an extra creamy texture, shake every five minutes.
  4. Pipe into an ice cream cone in a circular motion to create the soft serve-like look.
  5. Add some sprinkles and enjoy!

Cross-Hatch Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 egg

Preparation:

  1. Mix together the ingredients inside the peanut butter jar until you get a cookie dough-like texture.
  2. Over a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, flip the jar upside down and squeeze the bottle until enough dough for one cookie is visible.
  3. Use a knife to slice the dough for a perfectly shaped cookie.
  4. Using the backside of a fork, lightly press down on the cookie horizontally and vertically to create a small hashtag pattern.
  5. Bake the cookies at 350°F for about 9 minutes.
  6. Transfer to a cooling rack.
