Gear Up for a Terrific Season of Tailgating with ShopRite x So Yummy

Step outside and you may notice there’s a crispness to the air that wasn’t around just a few weeks ago. Do you know what that means? Autumn is almost here! Before you know it, fall will be in full swing. You’ll be trading out your tank tops and T-shirts for sweaters and scarves in no time. At So Yummy, we’re doing a lot more than just sipping on pumpkin spice lattes and planning our apple picking outfits.

We’re gearing up for tailgating season, with the help of our good friends at ShopRite®! There’s no secret to a successful tailgate. ShopRite has everything you need to satisfy your hungry crew. Fire up the grill to whip up a big batch of our One Pan Sideline Sliders to easily feed a crowd of cheering fans. Our Fumble Free S’mores Foil Packs are also guaranteed to please adults and kids. You get to enjoy everything you love about s’more, without the mess!

Fumble Free S’mores Foil Pack

So Yummy

Easy • Yields 1 serving • Total Time: 25 minutes 

 

Ingredients: 

  • 5-6 marshmallows
  • 1 chocolate bar (wrapped in foil or use your own foil)
  • ⅛ cup Bowl & Basket® Chocolate Chips
  • ⅛ cup chopped strawberries
  • Foil (if your chocolate bar doesn’t come wrapped in foil)
  • Graham crackers (for serving)

 

Directions: 

  1. On a 8×8 inch piece of foil, place your chocolate bar and add the marshmallows on top. Melt the chocolate and marshmallows on a grill until marshmallows are golden and gooey. Conceal the chocolate and marshmallows with another piece of foil and/or close the grill for best results!
  2. Once melted, remove the chocolate bar and marshmallows from the grill. Crimp the edges of the foil to create a makeshift bowl. Add chocolate chips and strawberries on top. Dip with graham crackers and enjoy!

 

Tailgate Sangria + DIY LID

So Yummy

Easy • Yields 6 servings • Total Time: 25 minutes 

 

Ingredients: 

  • 2 plums
  • 2 peaches
  • 12 pitted cherries
  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1 ½ cups orange juice
  • Pitcher

 

Directions:

Sangria-

  1. Slice the plums and peaches, then grill.
  2. Add diced grilled peaches and plums, and pitted cherries to a pitcher. Muddle the fruit, then add red wine, and orange juice. Stir until fully combined.
  3. Serve over ice in Paperbird® plastic cups.

 

DIY Lid-

  1. Flatten a foil cupcake liner. Cut a small “X” in the middle.
  2. Place the flattened cupcake liner on top of the center of a sangria filled cup. Bend and mold the foil liner over the edges of the cup to form the lid.
  3. Poke a straw through the “X” that was cut in the previous step. Serve and enjoy!

 

One Pan Sideline Sliders

So Yummy

Easy • Yields 8 servings • Total Time: 35 minutes

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of Bowl & Basket® Hamburger Rolls (8 rolls total)
  • 24 slices of turkey
  • 16 slices of Wholesome Pantry® Provolone Cheese
  • 2 ½ cups cranberry sauce
  • Butter (melted)
  • Poppy Seeds (for topping)
  • One 9×13 inch foil pan
  • Foil

 

Directions:

  1. In the large foil pan, add the bottom halves of 8 hamburger rolls. Layer with turkey, cranberry sauce, and provolone cheese. Add the top halves of the 8 rolls.
  2. Brush the top of the buns with butter, and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  3. Cover the pan with foil and grill for about 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and rolls are toasted. Remove from grill and enjoy!

 

Champion Pie Pockets

So Yummy

Easy • Yields 7 servings • Total Time: 1 hour

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 sheets of pie dough
  • 1 can of Wholesome Pantry® Pumpkin Purée
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Cinnamon sugar (to garnish)
  • Sheet pan
  • One 8-inch pie pan 

 

Directions:

  1. Cut out 14 identical circles from the pie dough. This will create 7 pie pockets.
  2. For the filling, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and heavy cream in a large bowl.
  3. Add about a tablespoon of pumpkin pie filling to the center of one pie circle. Layer a second pie circle on top and crimp the edges with a fork.
  4. Cut a small “X” in the center of the top of the pie pocket. Brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  5. Place the pie pockets on a sheet pan, spacing each about 1 inch apart. On the grill, place a cake pan (about 8 inches) upside down. Then add the sheet pan of pie pockets on top of the cake pan.
  6. Grill for 20-25 minutes, or until the pie crusts are golden brown.

 

Game Day Pigs In A Blanket

So Yummy

Medium • Yields 8 servings • Total Time: 55 minutes

 

Ingredients: 

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 12-15 slices of Wholesome Pantry® Cheddar Cheese
  • 8 hot dogs
  • Sheet pan
  • Small Bowl (about 4 in.)
  • Butter (melted)
  • Poppy seeds (for topping)
  • Ketchup (or condiment of choice)

 

Directions: 

  1. Roll out each of your puff pastry sheets separately. Flatten until each is doubled in size.
  2. On an upside down sheet pan, add 1 sheet of puff pastry. Brush generously with melted butter, then layer with cheddar cheese slices.
  3. Add the second sheet of puff pastry.
  4. Place the small bowl upside down in the center of your stacked puff pastry and cheese. Cut 8 slices from the bowl to the edge, creating 8 even strips that are connected at the center.
  5. Wrap one hot dog in each of the pastry and cheese slices. Repeat with remaining hot dogs. Remove the bowl from the center, then add the sheet pan with your pigs in a blanket to the grill.
  6. Grill for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden and flaky. Add ketchup (or condiment of choice) to the small bow that was previously used, and place back in the center of your pigs in a blanket ring. Pull apart and enjoy!

 

Huddle Up Caramel Roll Ups

So Yummy

Easy • Yields 1 serving • Total Time: 15 minutes 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 tortilla
  • ½ cup apple pie filling
  • 2 tablespoons Wholesome Pantry® Salted Caramel Sauce
  • ½ cup Wholesome Pantry® Salted Caramel Sauce (for dipping)

 

Directions: 

  1. Grill the tortilla for about 5 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from the grill. You will need to work quickly through these next steps as the tortilla will begin to crisp as it cools down.
  2. Spread an even layer of salted caramel sauce to the tortilla. Add the apple pie filling to the middle third of your caramel coated tortilla.
  3. Roll your tortilla and use the caramel filling to keep the roll up in tact. Serve with salted caramel sauce on the side and enjoy!
