Move over, McRib. There’s a new McDonald’s item in town, and while it’s sadly only available in the U.K. for now, it’s making us feel as if Christmas truly is right around the corner.
It’s called the Millionaire’s Latte, probably because you’ll feel like a million bucks after drinking it. (Actually, it’s based around Millionaire’s shortbread, but that doesn’t mean the feeling can’t still apply.) While McDonald’s has been promoting their specialty drinks a lot in the past few years, this still looks way better than their standard fare.
So, what’s in a Millionaire’s Latte? Good question. According to a press release provided by JoyScribe, the new drink will include a large shot of espresso that’s blended with steamed milk and syrup that tastes a little like a caramel biscuit. The drink will be topped with chocolate cream and a drizzle of caramel, making it a must for the holidays.
The drink, which will enter McDonald’s locations in the U.K. starting on November 7th, will also come in a festive holiday cup. Since Starbucks isn’t the only company that can spread a little holiday cheer with their hot beverage exteriors.
Just take a look. It’s hard to resist.
It’s not the first time that Millionaire’s Shortbread has been turned into a drink, but it may very well be one of the best.
“The latte is a little bit of luxury but at an affordable price point — £1.99/£2.29 RRP for medium and large respectively — it’s the perfect Christmas shop pick-me-up,” McDonald’s U.K. said in their release to Joyscribe. And it’s a good thing they priced this fancy drink so low. People still need to hold onto some money to buy holiday gifts with, after all.
Even if you don’t live on the right continent to try the McDonald’s Millionaire Latte, you should at least find a yummy signature hot beverage to enjoy that’ll help you battle the cold weather ahead.
