As far as candy is concerned, there’s not much out there that’s as satisfying as a Sour Patch Kid. They’re sour, they’re sweet, and they have commercials that make all of us laugh — which is always a bonus. The problem is, you probably associate them most with an after-dinner snack, or perhaps a mid-day pick-me-up at the vending machine. You probably don’t chow down on a pack first thing in the morning. But in the rare case you do, this new Sour Patch Kids product will make things a lot easier for you.
While it’s been rumored for some time, Post made it clear that Sour Patch Kids cereal does exist. Y’know, just in case you wanted to literally have a sour morning. This is news your dentist might not be too happy about.
As a cereal fan myself, I have a lot of questions. It’s been pretty obvious that candy can easily turn into cereal. By that, I mean the success of Reese’s Puffs. Even though it’s harder to find, Rice Krispies Treats Cereal made it even more clear that snacks can have their place in your A.M. routine. But since Sour Patch Kids have such a distinct taste, it’s hard to see how they’d be transformed into a dry cereal. And even though it’d be an easy (yet still challenging) experiment to try at home, who knows how they’d taste in milk.
Even though this image might very well be a mockup, boxes could look something like this:

Now, here’s the interesting thing. According to Extra Crispy, the cereal is incredibly hard to find. In fact, it may very well be like a treasure hunt. It’s unclear if Sour Patch Kids wanted to add a little intrigue or do any consumer tests before a nationwide release. Or, maybe it’s just meant to be a hidden gem. Even if you’re not a fan, it might be worth it to check your cereal aisle to see if you can score a box.
