My husband and I have a lot of similarities, but there was one big thing we disagreed on for awhile. And that was delivery pizza. While I opted for Domino’s, he was all about Pizza Hut. Eventually, I backed down. After all, it was the Hut that brought back memories of red cups, the Book-It program, and those iconic rubber Land Before Time puppets that they gave out during the late ’80s. Also, Pizza Hut’s breadsticks are hands down the best.
So, in a weird way I’m kind of happy that Pizza Hut’s latest promotion doesn’t apply to us this year — because, it’s so hard to say no to. Pizza Hut is giving away a full year of free pizza to the family that has the first Super Bowl 2019 baby. That means that if your due date is on or around February 3rd, you may be in luck. It’d also guarantee that your new bundle of joy would also start their life off with a ton of Pizza Hut memories.
Bummed that you might be in labor during the big game? This totally makes up for it. Even better, Business Insider reports that the “winning” family will also get Super Bowl tickets to next year’s game, which is massive.
You might want to have a babysitter lined up by then to really get the most out of it. But trust me — after that first year of parenting, you’ll be more than willing to let someone else rock that baby to sleep for a night.
So, how do you enter? Good question. First up, you’ll want to make sure you have a Twitter account since that’ll be the way you’ll alert Pizza Hut that you’re in the running.
Oh baby! We’re overdelivering for parents LITERALLY delivering during #SuperBowlLIII. First baby born during #SBLIII could win free pizza for a year AND Super Bowl LIV tickets! See how: https://t.co/79gMSkLktT. See rules: https://t.co/weAEJZzONb pic.twitter.com/dHUkg55Jof

The baby needs to be born close to the kick-off time, per Business Insider. So, you’ll need to post a newborn photo on Twitter with the exact time of birth and a hashtag of #PizzaHutSpecialDelivery.

Which, honestly, is pretty funny for people on your feed who don’t know about the contest and may just assume that Pizza Hut had something to do with your labor.
It seems easy enough, right? Well, maybe. Even if you’ve never been in labor before, you probably know it’s a hard and emotional process. So, mentally, you may not even think about tweeting to Pizza Hut the second after your beloved baby arrives.
So, that’s up to your partner. Make sure they’re in on it since they’ll presumably join you in the pizza-eating. (And also, you just gave birth. Your job now is to relax for a bit and bond with your newborn).
Speaking of newborns, free pizza is an amazing way to ensure you actually eat during that first year. Gone are the days of fancy dinners and meals that take forever to prep. At least, for now.
(Don’t worry — it’ll get better. Promise).
Even Pizza Hut fanatics who aren’t expecting a baby are loving this promotion. But there were still plenty of hilarious responses, like this one.
That's not how that...okay, good luck! 🙃

Others tried to find new ways to get at least one free pizza. And for this guy, it may have actually worked. So, that means you might want to work out a scheme of your own in the future, since Pizza Hut may very well entertain it.
Honestly....this was clever. Mind sending us a DM?

But unfortunately, the promotion came a bit too late for some Pizza Hut fans. Like this one, who had a Super Bowl baby last year and zero offers of free grub.
A year too late! My son was born at halftime last year!

Aside from the big promotion, this is an exciting year for Pizza Hut. This is their first Super Bowl after agreeing to sponsor the NFL after the fallout with Papa John’s. In accepting the role, they made sure to announce that all campaigns would be based more around the fans, and not just the sport.

And since pizza is one of the most beloved dinners during Game Night (and, uh — all nights, honestly) being linked in a positive way with the NFL is big for the company. Even bigger than the Land Before Time dinosaur puppets from the late ’80s.
[fm_youtube url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMERF693Xqw"](Seriously, I’m not the only one who remembers these, right? They were legendary. I felt like every kid had one).
As far as Pizza Hut’s promotions, hopefully there’ll be more fun chances to win free pizza for everyone out there, and not just the parents-to-be. Because that was yet another factor in the “Dominos v. Pizza Hut” debate — who had the better deal?
[fm_youtube url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDNtLv7CLvc"]And, yeah. Pizza Hut usually won.
Even if you’re not expecting, make sure to tell your friends who are. Since this is a deal that true buddies would pass on, and way better than anything else they happened to get at the baby shower.
