You’re all familiar with Runts, right? Runts are fruity candies shaped like the fruits they taste like. They’re not the most popular, but they’re usually devoured quickly, and the last ones to go are normally the bananas. Because they’re kind of known as being, as some say, “gross.”
This is where I come in. The bananas are my absolute favorite, but I know I’m in the minority. Do banana-flavored candies taste anything like the real deal? Of course they don’t. Do any of them, really? But there’s something mildly pleasing about it to me, possibly because banana in itself is such a random flavor. You’ll always have grape and cherry, but when it comes to bananas, only a few candies cross that threshold.
One of those candies happens to be Laffy Taffy. Popular around Halloween, Laffy Taffy has a wide array of flavors — green apple, watermelon, blue raspberry, strawberry, grape, banana, and cherry, to be exact. That makes this news even more strange. Because, out of all those flavors, they’ve chosen to take Banana Laffy Taffy and sell it individually.
That means that me and the one other person out there who loves banana candy will finally be happy.
According to Yahoo, this Laffy Taffy product will only be available for a short time.
But one thing’s for sure: People are definitely divided over how they feel about the candy flavor.
Some love it. Others think it belongs right in the garbage.
Unpopular opinion: banana laffy taffy’s trash af

And to that, I say, “More for me! Please, and thank you.”
It’s interesting to see Joel McHale’s role in this whole thing. The actor, best known for Community, has made his love of banana Laffy Taffy pretty obvious.
Well, this is officially the worst thing to ever happen to me or anybody else. I got myself a pile of #LaffyTaffy and there is NOT ONE BANANA FLAVOR. Why me? Why now? Life's not fair! #sponsored #JoelDeservesBananaLaffyTaffy #LaffyTaffy pic.twitter.com/v0BunOBzLH

Even though he hasn’t expressed an opinion on Runts, I’m guessing we may be in the same boat. Once a banana fan, always a banana fan.
His friends sympathized over the loss, especially those who also feel as if Banana Laffy Taffy reigns supreme. It’s an unpopular opinion that has brought many people closer.
I only eat the banana ones, feeling your pain right now

With time, McHale made it seem like maybe the Banana Laffy Taffy was just no more. Maybe they got rid of it right under his nose.
But, surprise! It was all an April Fools prank. Instead, McHale was one of the first to reveal the brand new all-banana option.
He even got his own photoshoot with the Banana Laffy Taffy, which sounds like a dream job. (Next to getting paid to eat it, of course.)
WHAT??!!!

Laffy Taffy is now making “Banana-only” bags!
Dreams do come true!!!
Am I the only one who likes this?? https://t.co/hCufdMC7Qk
I joked about the Runts before. But McHale probably wouldn’t work his magic with them, for good reason.
We need to lock up all the people who like banana Runts

Only because they already exist. Many grocery stores sell just the bananas, but you can also buy them on Amazon.
But, enough about Runts. Let’s go back to the Laffy Taffy.

It’s unclear as to how long these bags will be available. So, fans? It’s your job to stock up now. Taffy has a great shelf-life, so you won’t need to worry about product going bad.
Plus, this may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Especially if all the banana haters out there keep getting vocal on social media.
So, fans of banana-flavored candy? You know what to do.
