Is it possible for a limited-edition Frappuccino to come out in just one location? Turns out, the answer is… maybe. Whether it’s a test run by Starbucks or just a fun concoction created by a bored barista, the Blueberry Pie Frappuccino is a big secret that other locations may soon pick up on.
Delish writer Madison Flager spotted the pie-flavored Frappuccino at a Starbucks in the L.A. area. Even though Starbucks hasn’t confirmed it as being a nationwide release, she realized that the ingredients included in the drink were things that a standard Starbucks should have.
Here’s the issue. Secret menu items are often a little frustrating for even the well-trained barista. Have you ever been to a Starbucks without a line? It’s almost like ordering a Whopper imitation at a McDonald’s. The ingredients are all there, but it’s something employees aren’t necessarily prepared for.
Still, it doesn’t mean that a barista wouldn’t try. According to Delish, the drink was listed as having a Vanilla Bean base, blueberry, and a topping of graham crackers. The blueberry was taken from the ingredients of their Iced Blueberry Black Tea, and the graham crackers were reportedly taken from the S’Mores Frappuccino. With these small hacks, a brand new drink was born.

Even though this particular Starbucks was more vocal about the creation, other locations have tried it before. So, obviously, it’s a flavor that’s in demand.
Make it like you would a strawberries and cream and add vanilla and white mocha

Other chains outside of Starbucks have also offered up a similar drink. When you know the base is blueberries, you really can’t go wrong.
Plus, locations that have been able to really focus on the coloration have proven that it’s completely Instagrammable. How good does this drink look?
The Starbucks that was advertising the creation did something amazing. They put all the ingredients on the board, so that if it went viral (which it did) other baristas would be able to offer up something similar.

Starbucks seems to be a fan of viral drinks. Especially Frappuccinos.
We all remember the Unicorn Frappuccino. But all in all, sales of the drink seem to be falling.
Back in the day, the company used to be known for their Frappuccinos. But as people are getting a little more health-conscious, they’re realizing that the drink packs more calories than you might want in a day. It still makes for a great treat.
Their Happy Hours were initially used to help push Frappuccinos. As the years went on, they added other drinks to the lineup.

But even though they’re not the healthiest, they’re one of the best ways for Starbucks fans to beat the summer heat. An occasional Frap won’t ruin your diet.

Even though they have yet to confirm the drink as their own, they’re probably happy that staff members have figured it out. Especially since its presence on social media will really get the word out.

Summer aside, it’s also an ideal drink for the fall. The PSL is going to be back before we all know it, but variety is the spice of life.
Really —what’s more comforting than a nice blueberry pie? This drink is also a lot less messy than the real thing.
No matter what, baristas are bound to experiment a little more when they realize that the drink may be ordered at their location.
ur jus jealous I had a Blueberry Pie Frappuccino from @Starbucks

While the ingredients are made public, people have used other things to help modify the drink. You can’t deny the fact that having a little bit of creativity really goes a long way when you’re working at Starbucks.

If you’re feeling a little daring, try asking your friendly Starbucks barista if they can whip something up. Then, post it on Instagram to get the word out that the best new Starbucks drink happens to be the one they’re not advertising.
