Millennials and their avocados, am I right? Even though it’s stereotyping at its finest, millennials got something right in embracing the avocado. Not only is it delicious and satisfying, but it makes you feel healthy. Starbucks agrees, since they’re selling a drink that’s pretty much a tribute to the fruit. But here’s the bad news — it’ll only be on the menu in their Korea locations.
Avocados have spiked in popularity during the last two decades, so it makes sense as to why Starbucks Korea would want to jump on the trend. According to PopSugar, the drink is creamy like a real avocado and tastes pretty similar, too.
It shouldn’t be labeled as a brand new drink, as it technically debuted as a limited-time drink three years ago. But it has gotten a makeover since then. These days, the drink physically looks like an avocado, pit and all. (Theirs is made of chocolate, so yes — it’s safe to eat.) So, what’s it called? It’s been officially titled the Avocado Blended, and when you see it, you might very well book a flight to Korea.
Here are just a few photos of the drink, which became available again on June 26th:
I’m not sure how it’s possible to crave a drink you’ve never had before, but well, here we are.
It’s a shame that it won’t be available in America, since it’d be a surefire hit. Not only do Americans love new Starbucks drinks, but they love Starbucks drinks that’ll light up their Instagram feed. And as you can see, the Avocado Blended does just that.
