It’s almost time! Amy Schumer is due to give birth in April, which means that she’s now ready for a rockin’ baby shower. Schumer, who announced the news this past October, has been open to jokes about her new arrival, but probably didn’t expect that her cake for the event would have been equally hilarious.
Schumer hasn’t had an easy time so far. Diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, she’s let her fans know that her pregnancy has been filled with lots of vomiting and nausea. Right now, she’s in the third trimester, meaning the end is near. And surely, when the comedian meets her bundle of joy, the months of illness will be forgotten. Or at least, put on the backburner.
It’s a good thing that her cake didn’t spark up any nausea, since it’s one of the most graphic baby shower cakes you’ll likely ever see. Let’s just say, it’s a scene that any doctor in the delivery room would be familiar with.
But the best part of all? Schumer credits her sister-in-law for the masterpiece, meaning that she’s got funny family on both sides. “My sister in law. And I can’t stress that enough IN LAW. surprised me with a horrifying cake and i can’t thank her enough,” she wrote. “So I won’t thank her at all. @mofischhh something is truly wrong with you and i love you. #haunting #butthole”
Wow. Just… wow. Make sure you see it from all angles, too. Jessica Seinfeld and Kate Hudson were just two of the many people who commented.
Jessica Alba also extended her friendship to Schumer’s sister-in-law. That’s an honor nobody could have expected.
But, it’s not just celebs who are shocked by the “giving birth” cake. Plenty of her fans also thought it was funny.

To be fair… the cake could have been much more grotesque. A lot happens down there when the baby is on the way, as Schumer likely knows.
Who can forget this absolutely perfect skit she did on Saturday Night Live? Hopefully, her actual delivery won’t be as… frustrating.

She even poked fun at the Fyre Festival. Not many people can link a baby’s big event to what we all witnessed on those Netflix and Hulu documentaries.
And just a week ago, she celebrated her third trimester. That’s around the time you really stop feeling human, and it seems like Schumer was not pleased.
She also shared the not-so-great moments. For one, she had to be hooked up to an IV based on her diagnosis.
It’s important because pregnancy is wildly different for everyone. Sure, some women may be glowing. But others could spend close to a year feeling absolutely terrible.
At one during her pregnancy, Schumer asked her fans to send kid (and dog) photos to help cheer her up. The good news? It seemed to have worked.
In fact, Schumer is still doing stand-up, which is kind of incredible. And surely she’ll be joking about this pregnancy.
Hopefully, her labor cake also reminded her that yes — all of this is worth it. And surely having a loving partner like Chris Fischer, a professional chef, helps as well. This is the first baby for both of them, and that kid is bound to have a really incredible childhood filled with solid laughs and amazing food.
