Ugh. UGH! We don’t know why tummy teas and meal replacement diet shakes have been carried into 2019. But they have. And Khloé Kardashian is still promoting them. Now, Khloé is finding herself in some serious hot water after posting an ad for Flat Tummy Co.’s meal replacement shakes, because honey — we know that body didn’t come from drinking a shake.
Come on.
“#ad Loving how my tummy looks right now you guys!” Khloé captioned her March 20th sponsored post. “I brought @flattummyco’s meal replacement shakes into my routine about 2 weeks ago, and the progress is undeniable.”
But Khloé… we think you’re forgetting about your personal training sessions, the copious salads you’re constantly eating, and your occasional nips and tucks.
Don’t try to trick us into thinking that we can look like you by simply purchasing this product. Dare we say it? We dare: It’s false advertising.
We’re not the only ones who are sick and tired of seeing celebs advertise diet products on Instagram.
Khloé’s post is littered with comments from followers expressing their disappointment.
“THIS IS NOT OKAY,” one follower commented.
“So many young girls look up to you. You do not empower women, you bring them down.” Another added, “How do you post these ‘be your true authentic self’ quotes on your stories and then promote this crap which you obviously do not use? Shameful.”
We were all thinking what Pornhub — yes, Pornhub — demanded in their comment on Khloé’s post. Where is our girl Double J?
We love Jameela Jamil so much.
“You’re a smart woman. Be smarter than this,” wrote Jamil, our hero when it comes to body confidence, doing the right thing, being a badass, and so much more.
And hello? As Jamil said, Flat Tummy Co. is non-FDA approved.
Is it really legal to be promoting something that hasn’t been okayed by the Food and Drug Administration?
“It’s incredibly awful that this industry bullied you until you became this fixated on your appearance,” Jamil continued. “That’s the media’s fault. But now please don’t put that back into the world, and hurt other girls, the way you have been hurt.”
SOUND OFF, girl!
Jamil got backup from other Khloé followers. Thank goodness we’re all in the same boat.
This seriously isn’t okay.
As if social media doesn’t make people feel bad enough, we definitely don’t need to see tummy tea ads.
Detoxing through diarrhea-inducing teas and shakes will never truly help anyone struggling with their body confidence.
The process is just going to make you feel worse, and it could be dangerous for some.
Would Khloé allow True to drink tummy teas? We don’t think so! (At least, we hope not.)
Khloé obviously doesn’t need the money from doing these ads. So we have to wonder why she continues to promote such a shady product?
Take it from someone who has actually tried it — these detox drinks dehydrate you to make you feel thin.
Scam, sham, thank you, ma’am.
The whole tummy tea is promotion is a bit hypocritical of Khloé.
She tells followers to love themselves the way they are, yet is an avid detox user. Hm…
With over 89 million followers on Instagram, Khloé could absolutely be using her platform to promote much more empowering content. 2019 is all about loving what you got, so don’t be outdated, Khlo.
Nope. Sorry. We’re all pissed.
Khloé, we beg of you, please leave detox tea and shake advertising in the past. Or at least be transparent about how you ~actually~ get your flat tummy.
And spread the word to your sisters, too.
Tummy teas are out. Hard work, eating right, and loving your bod is in.
