It’s not cookie season just yet, but the Girl Scouts are already preparing for 2019. Since they’ve brought us such delights as Samoas and Thin Mints, it’s extra exciting to hear that a brand new cookie will be appearing on order forms next year.
The Girl Scouts of the USA announced today, August 14th, that select areas will be able to get their hands on a Caramel Chocolate Chip cookie. And even better, the cookie will be gluten-free. That means that cookie fans with a gluten sensitivity or allergy will be able to enjoy two of their offerings. (Their buttery Toffee-tastic cookie, which debuted in 2015, is still available to order in specific districts.)
According to the Girl Scouts of the USA, the brand new cookie is a chewy, rich caramel cookie with semi-sweet chocolate chips and a dash of sea salt. Yes, we know what you’re thinking — this new addition sounds equally delicious and dangerous.
Before you get too excited, you might want to contact your local council to make sure they’ll be available. Just by looking at them, fingers crossed that the answer will be yes!

Cookies aside, the Girl Scout organization has set to teach young women leadership skills. A whopping 66% of Girl Scouts have stated that they’ve developed all their skills in setting goals, interacting with others, making decisions, managing money, and understanding business ethics through the organization. And while learning that, they’ve also helped support their community.

Make sure you support your local troop by ordering a bunch of new Caramel Chocolate Chip Girl Scout cookies when the time comes. And Thin Mints. And Do-si-dos. And Trefoils. Hey, cookie season only happens once a year, so you might as well stock up.
