Sorry, But That Insanely Good Chick-Fil-A Deal Was Just A Scam

Chick-Fil-A scam

You can’t believe everything you read on the internet — but still, you probably never suspected that someone would try to meddle with Chick-Fil-A. The popular chain had to debunk a rumor that went viral about a future promotion. If it were true, it literally would have been one of the best fast food deals of all time.

The tweet stated that if over 500,000 people retweeted the tweet in question, Chick-Fil-A would unveil a 4 for $4 promo. Yes, you read that right — 4 items for just $4. That could easily feed a small family. That’s likely why everyone was all about it.

Here’s the sad part. Even though Chick-Fil-A technically debunked the tweet at around the 300,000 mark, according to Guilty Eats, the tweet actually made it past the 500,000  mark. That means that a lot of people still have false hope that the chain will unveil the deal soon.

The tweet looks like it originated from the account @PrimeKFC. It makes you wonder if a fan of Kentucky Fried Chicken just wanted to stir up some trouble from Chick-Fil-A, or if someone running a Chick-Fil-A social account actually posted the tweet deal at some point to get some headlines. Of course, there’s always Photoshop.

A few people felt like it was fake from the very beginning. After all, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches often start around that price point, so they’d be losing a considerable amount of money with a promo like this.

But even those who were doubtful took part, since, in the slim chance that Chick-Fil-A was actually in on this promo after all, it’d be too wonderful to miss.

Can you imagine how much money you’d save? You could even buy enough chicken sandwiches to eat when a craving hits on Sunday, when the restaurants are all closed.

It was Business Insider who connected with Chick-Fil-A to learn more, and that’s when the tweet was debunked for good. It seems like the screencap may have been doctored. Still, it’s currently up and still circulating, meaning that more and more people are believing it’s real every day.

But, here’s some good news. A “4 for 4” deal would likely make Chick-Fil-A more crowded than ever — and there’s never a time when the drive-thru is completely empty. So if this actually happened, it might take you even more time to get your order. And there’s nothing that’s more sad than a cold waffle fry.

Hopefully, Chick-Fil-A will offer up a great new promo soon that’s actually legit.
