Wendy’s is, once again, probably one of the best fast food Twitter feeds around, especially after seeing their latest feud go down. This isn’t the first time that the popular burger chain exchanged words with another burger slinger, and it’s safe to say that it also won’t be the last.
This time, it wasn’t Wendy’s who tried to stir up some drama first. It was Steak ‘N Shake, who’ve been serving burgers and shakes for over 80 years. For some context, let’s go over some Steak ‘N Shake history. Ever wonder how the chain got its name? According to the company, it was partly because founder Gus Belt was set on proving that they used premium meats. So, he wheeled in a barrel filled with various cuts of steaks to show his customers and grounded them into burger patties right before their eyes. If that visual doesn’t make you hungry for a burger, nothing will.
It’s unclear if Belt would have been too happy about his company trying to drag Wendy’s down for seemingly no reason, but hey — it’s all in the name of competition.
On July 24th, the company utilized a New Girl gif while tweeted out their diss. “When your friend suggests going to Wendy’s…that’s #WhenThingsGetAwkward,” they wrote. How savage.

They didn’t have the guts to tag Wendy’s directly, but Wendy’s quickly figured out what had happened. And, well, they were quick to respond back.
Oh, hey Snake 'n Fake!

Think you dropped this: @
Maybe leave the subs to the sandwich shops and leave the cheeseburgers to us. https://t.co/DaO7AN1Tsg
Ouch.
Many fans thought the original comment kind of came out of nowhere. It’s pretty obvious that Steak ‘N Shake was just looking for a fight.
What's wrong with Wendy's? Can't you both be delicious?

There can only be one! -JM

After Wendy’s killer comment back, Steak ‘N Shake tried hard to keep the fire going. But the best interaction was probably when Famous Dave’s tried getting a piece of the action.
Yeah, that's cool. So long as you keep leaving the delicious to us. #wegood

Huh, over 30 minutes. Do people usually have to wait that long with you guys?

We were busy trying to figure out how to thaw out square burger patties. Any tips?
— Steak 'n Shake (@SteaknShake) July 24, 2018
Admit it, you were busy reacting to having a tweet get more than 100 likes.

And y'all know fresh beef doesn't have to thaw.

If Steak ‘N Shake wants to get a little bit of attention by starting a feud, they might have to try just a little bit harder.

As far as tweeting is concerned, it’s safe to say that Wendy’s will always be #1.
