Remember The Giant Cotton Candy Burrito Trend? Yeah, We Took It A Step Further

You know that long period of time (which includes right now) when the internet was super obsessed with interesting food hybrids? Golden chicken wings, donut burgers, charcoal ice cream, cotton candy burritos — remember these? The cotton candy burritos were especially crazy, with super sweet candies and confections buried inside spun sugar. It became a phenomenon and a major trend among foodies and Instagrammers everywhere.

While we’re known for making some pretty inventive food creations, part of the team wanted to go all out.

For So Yummy’s newest video series, Snackable, the producers went much, much further than your standard cotton candy burrito.

Just imagine regular cotton candy burritos, but way bigger, with a bit of a higher risk factor. Not only did they make enough cotton candy for an entire carnival for this burrito — they also built it around an actual human being. You read that right.

After attempting his own (normal) cotton candy burrito, producer Blake Grigsby wanted to take things to the next level. With the help of some co-workers, he set out to build a man-sized cotton candy burrito (man included). What they ended up with were smokey kitchen outlets, tons of cotton candy, a human-filled cotton candy cocoon, and an actual chainsaw. Wild.

It all started with this:

And ended up with something like this:

Mike Price, So Yummy producer, graciously acted as the outline for the man-sized burrito …

… and was later asked to be inside the cotton candy burrito. Not all heroes wear capes.

Things definitely got a little crazy later on.

Trust me, you’ll want to see how this ends.
