This “Modern” Chocolate Bunny Is Going To Make You Hate Easter

Ikea chocolate bunny

It’s almost Easter, and you know what that means: a ton of chocolate and a phone call to reschedule your dentist appointment to avoid any kind of ridicule. Even though the holiday might temporarily derail your diet, at least you should know that there’s at least one chocolate bunny that’ll really make you work for it.

It’s hilarious, yet frustrating, at the same time.

Most people know chocolate bunnies in two forms. Either they’re hollow (which is healthier, but way less satisfying) or they’re solid. With some bunnies, you need to take that first bite to know for sure. IKEA, the store you go to for all of your home needs, chose to add another type of bunny to the mix.

As funny as it is, they’re selling a flat box bunny that you need to assemble yourself, much like their popular furniture.

If you’re unfamiliar with IKEA, know this — everything in the store, you need to assemble yourself. The IKEA showroom is a place of dreams, while the IKEA warehouse is where nightmares and fights begin, especially if you spent way too long in the showroom.

It’s frustrating to locate the exact side table that looked so perfect just fifteen minutes prior, and it’s hard to figure out whether it’s a piece you still actually want when you see how heavy it is in the box.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized by IKEA furniture.

*Raises hand*

Raise it extra high if you’ve questioned all of your life choices while trying to assemble a TRYSIL bed frame.

So, that’s why this chocolate bunny might lead you to a brief fit of rage.

(But at the same time, well done, IKEA. This is kind of hilarious.)

IKEA

Even though the assembly bunny shows up on their website, it’s only available in stores.

Luckily, it’s way lighter than the other assembly items you’ll be picking up during that same trip.

Plus, you probably won’t have to think long and hard about storage and travel, and which car to bring.

For fans of IKEA, half of the battle is “how am I going to bring this home?”

The bunny is called a VÅRKÄNSLA chocolate bunny, and it’s $4.29, according to IKEA’s site.

Luckily, there are only three pieces you’ll need to assemble.

And this is one of the very few assembly products that probably isn’t in the warehouse.

The site says it could also be used for decor, but who are we kidding here?

This isn’t the first chocolate product available at IKEA, and it probably won’t be the last. But it’s the one that’s most likely to give you a chuckle.

The store is also filled with other snacks, like nuts, raisins, and fruit snacks. Oh — and in case you didn’t know by now, they’re pretty much known for their meatballs.

In fact, some people stop by at IKEA just for lunch.

The meatballs, unlike the chocolate bunny, don’t arrive in a flat box.

They actually have a pretty nice cafeteria area and a ton of selections.

Even though the meatballs are a great reason to stop by IKEA, the bunnies are a reason to tour the storefront. Anyone who’s a fan of IKEA will appreciate finding one in their basket this year.

I have to say, I’ll give you a pass on the actual furniture assembly.

But this is a product that everyone should be able to put together just fine.

Plus, it should be assembled before being eaten.

Maybe put it together, snap a photo for Instagram, and then dive in. ‘Tis the season, after all.

Easter is actually a pretty big deal for IKEA. The chocolate bunny is part of a much larger Easter collection, which also includes jellies and candies that you won’t find anywhere else.

Also, speaking of the food, they often have an Easter buffet. Or as they call it, a smörgåsbord.

Per their website, the meal includes herrings, salmon, meatballs (of course), veggies, and crispbread.

Once you dine in and pick up your chocolate bunny, you can also get this “Easter Drink” to wash it all down with.

It’s a soft drink called julmust that is often enjoyed during the spring holiday.

So, if you consider yourself a foodie, you may want to check it out.

Once again, IKEA proves that they offer way more than you expected. You may have come in for a desk lamp, but you’ll leave with a brand new appreciation for Swedish cuisine.
