Krispy Kreme has been in the news a lot lately, with new flavors, new drinks, and even a bizarre challenge (that I’m willing to try). Anyways, here are the top stories from the doughnut chain this week.
1. St. Patrick’s Day Taste

On March 16th and 17th this year, Krispy Kreme is selling their green doughnuts again! Going by the name O’riginal Glazed, these puppies will taste just like the real deal. The dough was dyed green to enjoy and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Unfortunately, these bad boys are only available in the United States and Canada. Will you be celebrating?
2. The Beer Truth
A few months ago, two Florida breweries teamed up to create…Krispy Kreme-infused beer. Two kinds of batches were made, one with glazed doughnuts and another with cream-filled ones. Krispy Kreme was not involved in this at all but did show support and sent their blessing. Doughnut beer. Who knew?
3. The Popcorn Scandal

No, your eyes are not deceiving you, Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Popcorn really does exist. Can’t wait to get your hands on some? Me either, but you’ll have to fly to England to get some. Yeah, I know…disappointing. Who else is ready to purchase a one-way ticket to Popcorn Town?
4. When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Doughnuts?
Krispy Kreme let America decide on the newest Glazed Doughnut flavor. The options were between caramel, blueberry, lemon, and maple. The voting took place back in January and lemon won with 36% of the votes. The newest flavor will arrive in the Spring and only be available for one week.
5. Going for the Hershey’s Gold!

Teaming up with Hershey’s is a no-brainer for the doughnut chain. The latest limited edition doughnut features Krispy Kreme’s original glazed doughnut with a drizzle of salted caramel icing that’s topped with pieces of Hershey’s Gold bar. The pairing found the perfect balance between sweet and salty as well as smooth and crunchy.
6. Crazy Glaze Challenge
Once a year, over 7,000 people come together for the Krispy Kreme Challenge. You have one hour to eat a dozen doughnuts while running five miles. Interested? Fly to North Carolina and join the race for yourself! Taking place every February, you just missed this race, but there’s never a bad time to start training. Get in shape today by eating more delicious doughnies.
7. Stuff Your Face with Nutella
Just when you thought Krispy Kreme went above and beyond, they throw something like this at you. Nutella stuffed doughnuts. That’s right, every delicious bite of an Original Glazed doughnut, you get a mouthful of Nutella. Sorry to break it to everyone, but this pairing is only available in the Dominican Republic.
