Costco Has Brought Back Their Cult-Fave Vodka Pops, And The Crowd Goes Wild

Costco vodka pops

It’s almost time for summer, and you know what that means — cold beer in coolers for your backyard barbecue and icy margaritas when you’re hanging with your friends. But, did you know there’s an even better way to stay cool and maintain a slight buzz?

Last year, Costco fans found a pretty magnificent product within the store’s aisles. CookingLight states that the company has once again stocked vodka pops. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s light booze in a frozen treat. The snacks are low calorie and really take the concept of the ice pop to a brand new level.

The pops are in four different varieties of “vodka martini.” So, there’s an element of class there as well. Just make sure these are totally separated from the standard pops you stock for your kids, because it may be hard to explain the concept of “adult ice pop” to them.

The news first sprung up on the Instagram account “Costco Deals.” If you haven’t heard of it by now, well, now you know. Costco is such an iconic place that it has several accounts spreading information about cool Costco finds and deals.

But it can be argued that this is one of the coolest. Pun intended.

The site states that it’s $20 for a 12-pack variety. Each pop only has 100 calories.

“I know these won’t be in Oregon cuz we are a liquor-controlled state but if you have these in your store can you tell us in the comments below what city and state?” the Costco Deals account states. “Please!”

The post was liked over 5,000 times. For people who didn’t hear about them last year, it was a great way to get informed.

Appletini and Watermelon Lemonade are two popular choices. But it’s also hard to resist Cosmopolitan and Lemon Drop.

The pops are made by a company called Slim Chillers, who operate out of Las Vegas. Outside of Costco, they’ve also popped up at a few big promotional events.

It’s pretty amazing how quickly these caught on. But then again, there’s nothing you can’t love about this product.

They’re slightly more alcoholic than a standard beer, and way more fun. They’re almost like a step up for fans of vodka gummy bears.

Which, along with jello shots, are still good — but more commonly seen at a college dorm.

The one issue with boozy edibles like those is that it’s often hard to know for sure how much alcohol is in a serving size. It varies by whoever makes the jello.

With these Slim Chillers, you’ll have a much better idea of how much you’re drinking. That means you’ll be a much more responsible drinker at your next event.

Intrigued, but not a total martini fan? Well, you’re in luck. The company also makes wine-inspired popsicles, according to their website.

The “Wine Cocktails” collection comes in Orangeberry Mimosa, Blackberry Pomegranate Sangrini, Strawberry Grapefruit Rossini, and Peach Mango Bellini. Yum.

The one negative? They don’t seem to have the same reach as the vodka-based pops do… yet. Surely they’ll take off soon, since who doesn’t love wine?

If you’ve been back and forth about getting a Costco membership, definitely put this news in the “pros” section. Of course, you may want to check to make sure that your local Costco is one that’s allowed to sell alcohol.

Each state has its own rules and regulations. Slim Chillers also has an interactive map on their website, so you can easily figure out where you can pick these up.
