First, they were known for their delicious selection of donuts and coffee. Then, they started entering the magical world of breakfast sandwiches and specialty drinks. And now? Dunkin’ Donuts is releasing something totally different — and it’s actually pretty cool.
This fall, the popular chain is going to offer beer. And not just any beer — beer inspired by coffee. This won’t be the first coffee beer in the world (there’s a surprising amount of different varieties out there), but it’ll be the perfect way to honor Dunkin‘ during dinner time.
The beer, which will be a collaboration with Boston’s Harpoon Brewery, is set to be released later this year. Surprisingly, it’s not the first time that Dunkin’ Donuts has dipped their toes in the beer industry. While it wasn’t widely available, and only offered up on tap, the company offered up DDark Roasted Brew stout beer at Wormtown Brewery this past December, according to Mashable.
It looks like the new beer will be called Dunkin’ Coffee Porter, as per Tenemu, who showcased their new labels. The beer, which has a 6% ABV, will only be released for a limited time, meaning you might want to stock up while you can.
Who knows? If this is a hit, maybe Dunkin’ Donuts will offer up even more varieties.
Can you imagine a French vanilla-inspired beer? Or, maybe something that tastes like their hazelnut frozen coffee. Yum.
Tenemu states that the beer will be available in both 12-ounce cans and 12-ounce bottles. As per the label, the beer has a “balanced and smooth” flavor.
Even though it’s not what fans expected from the chain, this looks like a must-try product from Dunkin’ Donuts for those who are 21 and over.
