Update: March 26, 10:30 A.M.

It’s almost here! Are you ready? M&M’s newest flavor, Nutella-inspired hazelnut spread, is hitting shelves in April. According to Delish, you can find them in a single, share, and stand-up pouch share size.

If you happen to be in New York on March 30th, you can even try the new flavor earlier. At Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall, M&Ms will have a stand set up and you can buy yourself a pack. And according to Delish, “If you tag your ‘passionate’ tweets with #gohazelnutty, #MMSfirsttaste, and #sweepstakes, you’ll have the chance to win an exclusive pack of the new flavor delivered to your home within hours.”

HOURS, people.

Hazelnut Spread M&Ms are going to be a forever addition to M&Ms flavor offerings, so if you love ’em, they’re going to be sticking around for quite some time.

Okay, wait a minute. Why didn’t anyone think of this mashup sooner? According to a September 25th press release, M&M’S Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies are headed our way. Think Nutella meets M&M’s and take a moment to get yourself together. This is huge news.

Hazelnut Spread M&M’s will permanently join the M&M’s family alongside another new creation: the M&M’s Chocolate Bar. Hazelnut Spread M&M’s, which “feature a hazelnut spread center, covered in delicious milk chocolate,” will hit shelves in April 2019. We really don’t know if we can wait that long, but we’ll try our best not to lose our minds in the meantime.

The lucky people over at The Daily Meal got a chance to try the Hazelnut Spread M&M’s and shared their thoughts on the genius creation.

“This ‘spread’ is not actually capable of being slathered on toast,” The Daily Meal writes, “it looks just like regular M&M’s and has a creamy chocolate-hazelnut center.”

To be fair, M&M’s obviously couldn’t steal the creamy, spreadable Nutella recipe.

So instead, we’ll be getting a fudgier filling, which we certainly won’t complain about.

Alas, despite our excitement, The Daily Meal staff said they weren’t that impressed by the new candy.

Some said that it tasted oddly like popcorn rather than anything hazelnut.

But perhaps after a soft release, the company will tighten up their recipe and we’ll get the mouth-watering goodness we’re imagining.

Hold your horses until April to rip open a package of the M&M’S Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies.

The new candy should be available nationwide in the U.S. Until then, we’ll be dreaming of their heavenly flavor.
