“Marshmallow Moon Oreos” Are Coming To Celebrate The Anniversary Of The Moon Landing

When it comes to the world of limited-edition products, Oreo literally takes the cake (uh, cookie). The brand is known for unique and seasonal treats, and we are so here for it. From Easter egg-shaped Oreos to questionable Hot Chicken Wing cookies, Oreo knows a thing or two about speaking to the hearts — and stomachs — of cookie fans everywhere.

Reportedly, Oreo is releasing a marshmallow creme-filled version to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

The new flavor will allegedly be named “Marshmallow Moon Oreos.” And while one might assume the creme will be white, it will actually be light purple to emulate the glow of the moon. Meanwhile, the chocolate cookies will be stamped with a moon and a few stars. How cute, right?

This isn’t the first time Oreo has dabbled with marshmallow creme, though.

If you loved S’mores Oreos or Marshmallow Crispy Oreos, something tells us that you’ll love this new Oreo flavor. To top things off, the packaging will feature a glow-in-the-dark design, which is totally fitting for the moon theme. This limited-edition Oreo flavor is basically a space lover’s dream come true.

You’re probably wondering when this cookie will be available in stores.

Well, the first moon landing took place on July 20th, 1969.

The feat was accomplished by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

Given the date, it’s safe to assume that Marshmallow Moon Oreos will drop before then.

In fact, according to @candyhunting, a snack account on Instagram, the official release date is Monday, April 8th.

Check out your local grocery store ASAP.

Hopefully, you’ll be able to find them!

Oreo seriously knows how to keep customers coming back for more.

It’s all about those buzz-worthy, limited-edition flavors.

For example, Pumpkin Spice Oreos show up around the fall.

By the holidays, it’s all about Peppermint Bark Oreos.

There’s also Birthday Cake Oreos…

…Carrot Cake Oreos…

…and Red Velvet Cake Oreos.

Love peanut butter cups? Oreo has your back.

There are even Watermelon Oreos, for crying out loud. Summertime, anyone?

Will other food manufacturers release moon-themed treats, too?

We sure hope so. Until then, we can’t wait to get our hands on Marshmallow Moon Oreos!
