M&M’s New Flavor Is “Hot Cross Bun,” And WTF Is Going On?

We have yet to meet an M&M’s flavor we haven’t liked — however, this may change sooner than we expected. In an odd turn of events, Mars released a hot cross bun M&M’s flavor, and we’re not too sure what to think.

According to Bustle, this new M&M’s variety tastes like a combination of milk chocolate and cinnamon swimming inside the classic M&M’s crunchy shell. Like, we’d try them. We just don’t know if this is a combo we’d dig, you know?

But lucky for us, and to the disappointment of many, hot cross bun M&M’s aren’t headed to the states (or anywhere else besides Australia) any time soon. Mars confirmed to Bustle that hot cross bun M&M’s are exclusively being sold Down Under through the 2019 Easter season. Crisis averted, we suppose.

Although we thought we’d be in the minority about our distaste for hot cross bun M&M’s — we could definitely see hard-core M&M’s supporters getting behind the flavor — we actually weren’t alone. In fact, only a rare few were actually stoked about the decision to make hot cross bun M&M’s a thing.

Sorry, guys. We just cannot get on the same page as you. Hot cross bun M&M’s do not sound hot cross fun, if you catch our drift.

new year, new me.

We align more with the nonbelievers.

Not on my watch.

And to be quite honestly, we’re a bit boggled by the other peanut M&M’s flavors that debuted earlier this week — Mexican Jalapeno Peanut, English Toffee Peanut, and Thai Coconut Peanut.

Hmm… strange indeed. We’re kind of glad the hot cross bun M&M’s are staying in Australia. Too many weird flavors in the states would send us over the edge.
