Another day, another wacky food combination. Today’s combo involves a classic candy bar that’s near and dear to my heart. Our beloved caramel, peanut, and chocolate nougat Snickers bar has joined the world of bizarre candy trends. Did Mars — the brand behind M&Ms, Twix, Skittles, and more — really release a spicy Snickers?
There are actually three new limited-edition Snickers flavors from Mars, and the other two don’t sound bad at all — sweet and salty, and espresso. According to a Mars press release, these three flavors are an addition to Snickers’s ongoing “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” campaign. Just like with their prior releases, these three flavors come in packaging devoted to how we feel when we’re hungry…or hangry. Espresso is for the irritable, fiery is for the wimpy, and sweet and salty is for the indecisive. Well, this is without a doubt accurate for me. Bring it on, Snickers, and fix all of my problems!

If you’re a real Snickers fan, their marketing team has more in store for you.
There will be a Snickers N.Y.C. pop-up called “Intense Flavors Hunger Bunker,” which is dedicated to the release of these three new flavors. Starting on Tuesday, June 19th, the event will have interactive escape room challenges (you’ll need to find the intense flavor to escape). Sounds pretty wild, but I’ll never pass up an opportunity that involves fun alongside sweet and salty Snickers. Sign me up. Reservations for this pop-up are open until June 30th.

Snickers hasn’t yet said when these flavors will be leaving store shelves, but they are available at participating retailers now, so don’t miss out on your chance to try a spicy Snickers!
If you’re interested in making yourself a Snickers Caramel Apple Salad, why not use Fiery Snickers instead for a hint of spice? An Espresso Snickers would also suit this salad nicely!
