Just in time for summer, Starbucks is teaming up with a company that makes a frozen dessert meant for the modern age. Dream Pops, maker of the geometrically-shaped plant-based ice cream pops, is partnering with the coffee chain, and we have a feeling this collab is going to be big.
As of right now, Starbucks has introduced Dream Pops to five Starbucks locations in Los Angeles. Until October 5th, Starbucks customers at La Brea and 4th, Melrose and Stanley, Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade, Wilshire and Santa Monica, and San Vincente and Barrington, can get a taste for the vegan treat that aims to be a new alternative to traditional fatty, dairy-based ice creams.
Dream Pops will certainly speak to Starbucks’s health-conscious consumers. Each pop is plant-based, “packed with superfoods,” as the Dream Pops website states, and under 100 calories. Plus, the pops do not contain any artificial additives or stabilizers.
“We figured it was time to bring ice cream into the 21st century – with real food and real ingredients that you can actually pronounce,” the company states on its site.
The pops are formed using 3D printed molds, which is what gives them that space-age appearance. And with sweet-sounding flavors like Coconut Latte, Vanilla Matcha, Mango Rosemary, and Berry Dreams, these things taste as great as they look.
Starbucks has had success with introducing unique treats in its locations before. Bantam Bagels originally started in just 500 Starbucks locations. In three years, the NYC-based company expanded to all 11,000 stores, FoodBeast reports.
With their vegan mission and interesting shape, Dream Pops have major potential to follow in Bantam Bagels’ footsteps.
If you’re near one of the Starbucks locations that is currently selling Dream Pops, be sure to check them out. Or, buy a tray of Dream Pops online while you wait for them to hit a store near you.
