Your go-to summer beverage just got a major facelift. Today, June 22nd, Starbucks released two new limited-edition drinks that we’re going to crave all summer. Please give a warm welcome to Summer Sunrise and Summer Sunset, the two Cold Foam Tea Lemonades that are sure to sweeten up your season. What in the blazes is a Cold Foam Tea Lemonade? In our opinion, it’s pure magic.
To make both offshoots of the new Starbucks Cold Foam Tea Lemonade, your barista will first combine a pineapple blend with Starbucks lemonade. For the Summer Sunrise, which “evokes the bright morning sun,” as the June 21st Starbucks Newsroom blog describes, classic syrup and cold foam is worked into the beverage and gives it a yellow hue. And the bright pink Summer Sunset, “inspired by dramatic sunsets,” features Starbs’s Passion Tango herbal tea.
As a final touch, both Tea Lemonade flavors are topped with Passion Tango tea-infused cold foam.
Cold foam, known best for its appearances in Starbucks’s Cold Foam Cascara Cold Brew, Cold Foam Cascara Nitro Cold Brew, and Cold Foam Blonde Iced Cappuccino, is the chilled equivalent to Starbucks’s hot foam. To make it, baristas froth cold non-fat milk until it can be poured into creamy layers.
Both the Summer Sunrise and the Summer Sunset are caffeine-free. But keep in mind that the cold froth contains milk. You can kindly ask your barista to alter the drinks to fit your likes and specifications.
These two new lemonade spinoffs join an entire roster of summery Starbucks drinks, such as the Teavana Passion Tango Iced Tea, Pink Drink, and Serious Strawberry Frappuccino.
Recently, the coffee chain also added the Mango Dragonfruit Starbucks Refresher to their permanent menu.
Now that the summer heat is setting in, we’re in need of both the Summer Sunrise and the Summer Sunset to wet our whistle. Try both Starbucks drinks for yourself — before they disappear.
If you want to take lemons and make something other than lemonade, our Blueberry Lemon Crescent is waiting for you. For a twist, you can even switch out the lemon juice with one of these new Starbucks lemonades.
It’s the perfect dessert (which you can also save for a treat yo ‘self breakfast).
