Who remembers to clean their microwave?
Cleaning your microwave doesn’t have to be the scrubbing, messy, and chemical infested chore that it used to be. There is a simple, toxin-free way to clean with something that you already have in your kitchen cabinet.
Using one of your kitchen sponges, submerge it in a bowl of white vinegar for less than a minute. Once the sponge has been soaked, place it in your microwave and run on medium to high heat for 2 minutes. The white vinegar will melt any stuck on mess. Allow the sponge to cool (It can get really hot), and use it to wipe down any excess mess.
There are little things you can do to keep your microwave looking fresh, like investing in a plastic-free plate guard. If you’re already using one, you should clean it every 3-4 weeks to prevent grease, food, and bacteria buildup. If you aren’t using a plate guard, you should incorporate cleaning your microwave into your weekly cleaning schedule.
Who knew it could be that easy?
