Woman Tries Stealing Lobster From Tank At Red Lobster, And The Police Had The Most Hilarious Response

Red Lobster is a well-known seafood restaurant in neighborhoods all over the world. They’re mostly known for their famous (and addictive) cheddar bay biscuits that come with every meal. Every location is also bound to have a big lobster tank in the lobby, right next to the hostess stand, to help get your appetite going as you wait in line for a seat. Well… a woman recently visited Red Lobster and couldn’t help herself — she savagely grabbed a lobster out of the tank and took it out of the restaurant.

In Laurel, Maryland, it was reported by the local CBS news that a woman was accused of stealing a lobster from the restaurant and putting it in her trunk. These lobsters are under pretty heavy surveillance. Due to their location in the lobby, the tank is constantly watched by guests and employees, and the restaurant even has a camera focused on them.

The woman was spotted scooping the lobster out of the tank and the shocked employees called the police. The police safely recovered the lobster from her trunk and arrested the woman. She was later released and given a citation.

Laurel Police Department/Facebook

I’m sure she thought that was the end, but no. The police department then took to Facebook to report the incident in a hilarious post. The Laurel Police Department stated that the woman was acting “shellfishly” and left the chain’s employees “steamed.” You can view the entire post here.

Maybe she was trying to free the lobster? Or maybe she wanted a lobster and didn’t want to pay? Regardless, it’s good to know that Red Lobster takes their big lobster tank very seriously. You can look, but do not touch.

If you prefer to cook your lobster at home, Martha Stewart has the perfect tip for you. Yes, it’s a little terrifying, but it’s also pretty clever. You can see what we’re talking about here.
