When Coca-Cola introduced new flavors of Diet Coke, the world rejoiced. Even though nothing can beat the classic version, it was still pretty cool to try varieties like ginger-lime and zesty blood orange. But the company recently revealed a brand new flavor of their Zero Sugar variety that’s a little bit tougher to get on board with. That’s because the flavor is, for many, hard to swallow.
Even though it’s currently only available in the U.K., who knows when Coca-Cola’ new cinnamon-flavored holiday soda will hit the rest of the world. Listen, I haven’t tried it — but honestly, it might not be the variety I grab if I’m looking for something to quench my thirst. The company will find out soon enough if it’s a hit, as it will be released in stores in the U.K. today, October 8th.
According to their press release, Coca-Cola created it due to a generally positive response to cinnamon. “Launched in response to the general public’s love of the flavour, the new addition to the Coca-Cola family is bursting full of warming flavours and is guaranteed to get you into the festive spirit as we head into the Christmas season,” the company wrote on their website.
The release also states that the soda will only be available until the end of the year. So, you know what that means. If you try it and it’s love at first sip, you’ll want to stock up.
No matter what, fans can use the soda as a festive mixer. If your winter drink is rum and coke, this new variety might spice things up a bit — literally.
