People Are, Once Again, Not Happy With Starbucks’s New Holiday Cups

Starbucks’s holiday cups are here! Starbucks’s holiday cups are here! ‘Tis the season to be jolly because Starbucks has officially debuted their holiday cups — and this year, customers are getting more than they bargained for. The coffee chain released four different cup designs, and yet, they still can’t please everyone. Yes, people are ~once again~ pissed off about Starbucks’s holiday cups. Surprise, surprise.

Each year, when Starbucks brings back their iconic red cup, we’re reminded of the media frenzy that was the 2015 holiday season. It was in 2015 when Starbucks decided to remove all things Christmas from their red cups in an effort to be more inclusive of other religious beliefs. However, many Christmas celebrants took the change personally and like to bring up the ongoing “war against Christianity” around this time each year.

This year, Starbucks wanted to show their customers that they heard them, and therefore reintroduced some Christmas imagery back into the holiday cup designs. “We listened to our customers,” Roz Brewer, Starbucks’ chief operating officer, told CNN. And customers said they “loved the tradition of Christmas,” Brewer added.

Even so, fighters going strong in the war on Christmas are still finding stuff to be picky about. Because coffee cups matter, okay?

And others are just trolling the entire argument. To them, we say thank you.

We have a feeling this Starbucks holiday cup back and forth will never end. And honestly, let’s be thankful that this year’s fight is not worse than it could be during our current political climate.

Guys, it’s Starbucks. There are many more important things to get heated about, so let’s just take a chill pill and sip on some Peppermint Mocha.
