Made with the “finest bat warts,” Starbucks’s new Frappuccino looks absolutely disgusting. Luckily, that’s the point. Today, October 25th, the coffee chain released their new Witch’s Brew Frappuccino in celebration of the Halloween season. It looks wickedly intriguing.
Available at participating Starbucks locations for a limited time, the Witch’s Brew Frappuccino is made with a “pinch of toad’s breath,” a “dash of bat warts,” and a “sprinkle of lizard scales.” In muggle terms, that means purple-colored orange crème Frappuccino, green chia seeds, and whipped cream with green sugar topping.
“We wanted to create a flavor that you might enjoy at a Halloween party,” said Jennica Robinson from Starbucks beverage development team via an October 25th statement. “It gets a little bit of juicy-ness from the orange flavor.”
Since 2014, Starbucks has celebrated Halloween with its customers by creating a spirited blended drink that fits the season. The first-ever spooky drink was 2014’s Franken Frappuccino. In 2015 and 2016, Starbucks gave us the Frappula Frappuccino. And last year, we were spooked by the Zombie Frappuccino blended beverage.
The Witch’s Brew Frapp is a welcome addition to the Addams Family of Starbucks’s boo-tiful beverages. We can’t wait to taste-test the fruity/batty/spellbinding drink.
Starbucks customers across the country have already taken a sip to “lift the curse” and we’re so jealous.
And if you’re feeling a bit peckish, try out Starbucks’s Mummy Cake Pops and/or their new Raccoon Sugar Cookies.
If you don’t mind, we have to hop on our broom and zoom down to our local Starbucks to see what all the hype is about. Besides, you can’t have a proper Halloween brew-ha-ha without a Witch’s Brew Frappuccino.
