This Starbucks Trick Lets You Get Cheap Drinks All Winter Long

Starbucks is known for three things: their Frappuccinos, their PSLs, and their fun holiday cups. This year, they’ve already unleashed their winter collection, with the addition of one more — a red reusable cup, aka your new favorite Starbucks hack.

The cup made some headlines earlier this month, as the company promised to hand them out for free on November 2nd with the purchase of a seasonal hot drink. But, they really meant it when they added the disclaimer of “while supplies last.” The free cups were scarce in a bunch of their locations.

But there’s some good news. It’s not too late to get a reusable red cup. And aside from making an environmental difference, there are plenty of other benefits you can get by purchasing it. For one, drinks will be discounted until January 7th if you buy them after 2 p.m., according to Good Housekeeping. Every time you present your reusable red mug, you’ll knock 50 cents off your drink. And if you’re a frequent Starbucks visitor, that can add up pretty quick. The cups are now available for $2.50 at participating Starbucks locations, so you might want to pick one up soon. The sooner you buy, the sooner you’ll get those discounts.

Since Starbucks released a slew of seasonal favorites that’ll put you in the holiday spirit until next year, you’ll never have a shortage of drink options.

Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Eggnog Latte, and Gingerbread Latte all sound like they’re worth trying at least once. And with that sweet discount, you won’t have to worry about running out of money for your family gift exchange.

Come to think of it, a reusable red cup may be one of the best presents you can give your siblings, since it’s the gift that keeps on giving. At least, until early January.
