I know — you’re anxiously awaiting news about the arrival of Meghan Markle’s baby. Markle has been quiet about her exact due date and birth details so far. So, why not talk about her wedding while we wait and see what happens? As it turns out, a brand new wedding story came out that might leave you a little baffled.
We all know that Markle is trying to keep up with royal etiquette, but, at the same time, is her own person. There are certain things she’s chosen to do that many royals before her have not. And you’d imagine things would be even more tense around the wedding. Not only is it her moment to officially be welcomed into the family, but literally everyone around the world was watching.
While she seems to get along pretty well with the Queen, supposedly the two may have had some words over one menu item in particular — but it’s not what you’d expect.
If you’ve been following the royals, you probably know that the Queen doesn’t approve of many foods that might make your breath stink or lead to gastrointestinal issues while out traveling. But this time, it was Markle who was reportedly upset over a dish.
According to Cosmopolitan, the Queen had some words with Markle after Markle could have sworn she tasted eggs in a particular dish. You heard that right — eggs.
Now, the macrobiotic dish didn’t include any eggs. But Markle was reportedly convinced that it did.
Their source? Katie Nicholl, who’s a royal expert.
With #royalbaby due any day Prince Harry has cancelled his trip to Amsterdam.

Nicholl said that the Queen actually confronted Markle and the two had words. Markle was more than upset with the staff, even though it was technically a non-issue. Maybe blame bridal stress?
So, what exactly happened? “It was the run-up to the royal wedding and Meghan had gone to Windsor Castle to taste some of the food that was going to be served at the reception,” Nicholl said to Yahoo’s Royal Box.
“She’d insisted on there being a macrobiotic alternative — I would suppose with there being that many Hollywood stars, you would expect that to be the case,” she continued. “[Meghan] got very upset when she felt that she could taste egg in a dish when she was told there was no egg in there, and she said, ‘No, I can taste it, I can taste there’s egg in this dish.’”
Nicholl added that when the Queen came in, she had to pull Markle aside to calm her down. “‘Meghan, in this family, we don’t speak to people like that,” the Queen reportedly said.
If that was Markle’s only “meltdown”? I’d say the wedding was a huge success.
Again — weddings are incredibly stressful. There are so many details you need to keep track of.
And honestly, you’d expect the food served to be absolutely immaculate. So it makes sense that Markle raised her voice. Maybe she just wasn’t as nice as she could have been.
Markle might not appreciate this story being dropped so late in the game.
Right now, she’s reportedly still pregnant — even though she’s admitted she might not be as forthcoming with baby news as Kate Middleton has been.
No1 can say by seeing the Dutchess Kate Middleton, that she just gave birth to the third child! How does she even maintain herself that well! Or is it that she is a super woman! That means we may not end up seeing photos of Meghan Markle looking fabulous right after delivery. (Seriously — every woman who’s ever given birth before can’t understand how these Middleton photos are so glamorous.)
Future chefs of Meghan Markle, know one thing. The Duchess of Sussex really knows her food.
And even though she may have been wrong this time around, she’s got a pretty decent palate. (And surely she’s sorry if she happened to go a little too far — she had a lot going on.)
The Queen, who’s reportedly been upfront herself when it comes to food on the menu, really stepped in to diffuse the situation. It’s good to know she trusts her staff to be truthful, especially when the menu is so important.
