#FoodJenga Is A Food Trend That’s Gone Viral On Instagram

viral food jenga

All of us are here for the same reason — we love food. But aside from cooking it and eating it, there’s also an art in displaying it. That’s why this latest Instagram trend is so much fun. People are stacking their food like they would Jenga blocks, and showing off how pretty food can be from totally different angles.

If you think about it, many different types of food can turn vertical without classifying as a kebob. Courageous Instagrammers have done a wonderful job stacking fruits, veggies, french fries, and other yummy carbs. Even though they might look like a work of art, surely each “artist” had no problem devouring their creation.

According to ShortList, the trend has been around for a bit, but just started picking up a lot of steam the last few days. Like a ton of online trends, it’s unclear as to how, exactly, it started.

Some food lovers have tried cutting and stacking their food of choice like they’d set up their Jenga tower, which might help add some stability to higher structures. Others just dazzle by being uniquely tall and comical. Think a huge tower of pancakes the way you’d only see in Sunday comics.

One of the first Food Jenga images came from Jenga itself. Who knew they had an Instagram?

This photo of brownies was also posted months ago, and could have inspired the recent trend. Once you look at it, you’ll never forget it — it just looks way too delicious.

Here are some of the most recent submissions, starting with Gabe. We can imagine Gabe is having a really productive morning at work, stacking his snacks.

These colorful fruit and veggie cubes are playing Food Jenga, and from this perspective, they look more like a painting.

These donuts are also quite colorful (and are making me super hungry.)

They almost look as good as this stack of cookies.

The possibilities are endless with Food Jenga. Simple and sweet, this is an internet trend I think the world can really get behind.
