Here’s Where You Can Get Free Donuts on National Donut Day, Because You Deserve To Treat Yourself

national donut day

National Donut Day is a pretty big deal — because donuts, of course! June 1st will be a guaranteed amazing day because a handful of companies are offering FREE donuts all day long. Yes, you heard that correctly, FREE. All. Day. Long. So all you donut lovers out there, or even just the people who like to indulge in free food, pay attention and plan accordingly where you’ll be tomorrow in order to make the most out of National Donut Day (and please, don’t limit yourself to just one!). Because even if you’re shopping at Walmart, you can still score a free donut. Same with Salvation Army. Or stop by your fave Dunkin’ Donuts location.

Bring donuts to the office to share with your work wife. Bring donuts to your roommate and win the Best Roommate Ever Award. Bring donuts home to your significant other because everyone knows the way to someone’s heart is through donuts, duh. Get some donuts for yourself, because you freakin’ deserve it.

Here’s where you snag yourself a free donut:

1. The Salvation Army

Did you know that National Donut Day was created by The Salvation Army? Back in 1938 it was meant to honor The Salvation Army Donut Lassies, who served sweet treats to soldiers on the front lines of World War I. They’re hosting a “Do Good Donut Party” all across the country, where they’ll serve free donuts to thousands of veterans.

2. Walmart

Every Walmart in America will be participating and giving away 1.2 million free doughnuts to customers nationwide! They’ll be served directly from their bakery while supplies last.

3. Cumberland Farms

Purchase a hot or iced Farmhouse Blend or a beverage from the Chill Zone, and receive a free donut from 5 a.m. – 10 a.m. June 1st.

4. Dunkin’ Donuts

Get a free, classic donut (Boston Kreme, Glazed, Chocolate and Strawberry Frosted with Sprinkles) with the purchase of a beverage! The donut and coffee shop is also offering two new specialty donuts: a Chocolate Cake Batter Donut (filled with chocolate butter creme filling, chocolate frosting and confetti sprinkles), and a Vanilla Cake Batter Donut (vanilla-flavored cake batter filling, white icing and confetti sprinkles) if you’re feeling fancy.

5. Burger King

There’s a thing called a Doughnut Whopper now, which is a hollowed out burger, and it’s available on National Donut day at FIVE locations (they’re somewhere in Boston, Miami Beach, Los Angeles, NYC and Salt Lake City). It’s not free, and it’s not exactly a donut in the traditional sense, but we just wanted to put it out there that you can get a Doughnut Whopper if you really want.

6. Duck Donuts

This small chain you can find mainly on the East Coast, is offering a free, classic donut all day tomorrow! This includes their bare, cinnamon sugar, and powdered sugar donuts.

7. Tim Horton’s

Tim Horton’s is running a contest tomorrow in which you can win Gold Timbits. Gold Timbits, if you’ve never had them before, are honey-dipped, 24k gold, bite-sized donuts. Timbits are hidden in select locations in the Buffalo, NY, Detroit, MI or Columbus, OH areas — if you’re the first customer to ask  if they have Gold Timbits after 6 a.m. (and they do indeed have them), you get free doughnuts for a year.

8. LaMar’s

Available all day, LaMar’s is offering any “donut with a hole” for free, no purchase necessary. You can also send a monetary donation to benefit an initiative to “take a bite out of” child hunger. This is a direct partnership with The Salvation Army.

9. Doughnut Planet

This popular NYC spot is giving away free carnival sprinkles mini cake doughnuts. Cake doughnut. Sprinkles. I’m there.

10. Krispy Kreme

Your favorite doughnut is free! There’s no exceptions on variety and no purchase necessary, yaasssss.

11. Edible Arrangements

Bringing a cute twist to National Donut Day, when you visit one of the 1,200+ locations, Edible Arrangements are gifting a free Edible Donut, crafted with crips, donut-shaped Granny Smith Apple slices hand-dipped in real, gourmet chocolate. This is next level and I want it.

12. Papa Johns

Order any pizza online tomorrow and receive an order of donut holes, free of charge, Oww-owwww!

13. Entenmann’s

Chief Donut Officer has a nice ring to it, dontcha think? Entenmann’s is holding a contest for National Donut, looking for their next CDO! You could win $5000 and a year’s supply of Entenmann’s Donuts, so naturally I’ve already entered myself.
