Taylor Swift Made A Birthday Cake For Selena Gomez, And Completely Confused The Internet In The Process

Even though Taylor Swift’s squad has changed quite a bit in the past few years, buddy Selena Gomez has always been a big part of her crew. That’s why, when Gomez turned 26 on July 22nd, Swift made sure to celebrate — even though she’s right in the middle of her super successful Reputation stadium tour — with a very special cake.

It’s been reported that while Swift has been performing around the East Coast, Gomez celebrated the big day back in California. So the fact that Swift made her a cake at all is a little puzzling. Sure — it’s possible to ship a cake from New York to California, but it’s not really ideal. And there’s a lot that could go wrong. It kind of seems as though Swift made (or at least decorated) the cake all by herself, based on the personal touches.

“Will I let distance stop me from celebrating my best friend’s bday?” Swift captioned an Instagram Story. The photo in question was a cake that looked pretty delicious. Pink with a big heart in the middle, it read “Gomez or Go Home.” The heart had a big 26 in it to showcase 26 very successful years.

One fan was so impressed that they made sure to save the image. Probably because distance aside, it’s a pretty sweet gift. Pun intended.

Still, there are so many questions that fans have. Does Taylor Swift have a method for making sure a cake can be overnighted without destruction? Perhaps a metal cake box that’ll ensure that no icing malfunctions occur? Or, did Swift just make a cake, snap a photo, and send it to Gomez as a way of saying she’s being thought of?

Really, the big question is — who ended up eating that cake?

Regardless of whether or not the cake actually made it to Gomez, it’s still a very nice gesture. Hopefully Gomez will be able to check out one of Swift’s big shows, which may allow the two to grab cake together afterward. They both have a lot to celebrate.
