Skull Cupcakes

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large bowl, sift flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and whisk to combine. Create a well in the center and add milk, coffee, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla. Whisk wet ingredients together before whisking all ingredients until smooth and combined.
  3. Prepare cupcake trays with cupcake liners and fill about half way with batter. This should make about 16 cupcakes. Fold pieces of tin foil into small cylinders and place two in beside each liner to create a skull shape. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean, about 18 minutes.
  4. Allow cupcakes to cool entirely, and then pipe a black buttercream onto each. Place cupcakes face down on a silicone mat, flattening the buttercream, and place in freezer until buttercream is hardened.
  5. Once solid, repeat on each cupcake with white buttercream. Once white layer has hardened, Carefully peel each cupcake from the mat and use sculpting tools to carve away the white buttercream to create a skull design. Serve and enjoy!

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes

  1. In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, add sugar cookies and mix on low until a paste forms. If needed, add hot water one teaspoon at a time to help everything combine. Roll cookie mixture into small balls of varied sizes.
  2. Place a cookie ball on a smooth surface and roll a skewer along the ball to create an indent. Repeat at different angles so that the ball is indented into sixths. Break a pretzel stick into ½ inch segments and insert pretzel segment into the apex of the cookie ball’s indents to create a pumpkin stem. Repeat with remaining cookie balls. 
  3. Arrange cookie pumpkins atop each cupcake for a pumpkin patch effect. Everyone will love with simple and delicious design!

Ghost Cupcakes

  1. Pipe a blob of orange buttercream onto each cupcake. Flatten the frosting on a silicone mat and chill the cupcakes until buttercream has hardened. Once hardened, peel each cupcake from the mat.
  2. Pipe white buttercream onto a palette knife and smear onto the cupcake. This will be the ghost body. Each cupcake can have 1-3 ghosts.
  3. Fill a piping bag with black buttercream and cut a small opening at the tip. Pipe ghost eyes and mouths onto each ghost.
  4. Place a Halloween candy on the center of each ghost.
  5. Pipe white buttercream arms holding either side of each candy.

Vampire Fang Cupcakes

Directions:

  1. Cut the tops off of each cupcake and set aside.
  2. Place melted chocolate chips in a piping bag and cut a small hole at the tip. Pipe bat wings onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Freeze until solid.
  3. Pipe a large blob of red on the back center of each cupcake bottom. Pipe six white teeth along the front edge.
  4. Pipe four front teeth and two long fangs with white buttercream along the front edge of the cupcake tops. Place each top on the frosted cupcake bottoms, lining up the top and bottom rows of teeth.
  5. Place two chocolate bat wings on either side of the cupcakes to complete the vampire look. Serve and enjoy!
