Air fryer recipes are the sensation that is sweeping the nation! But what the heck is an air fryer and how does it really work?! If you’ve been asking yourself this question ever since “pasta chips” started going viral, then you’ve come to the right place! We can tell you exactly how an air fryer works, and share a few extra recipes that are going to make you want to run out to buy your own hot commodity! The air fryer is essentially an amped-up countertop convection oven. The small appliance works to mimic the results of deep-frying with nothing more than hot air and little or no oil. The top section of an air fryer holds a heating mechanism and fan. You place the food in a fryer-style basket and when you turn it on, hot air rushes down and around the food. This rapid circulation makes the food crisp—much like deep-frying, but without the oil. Faux frying isn’t the only thing this device is good for. The high heat allows for a rapid cooking process, so now it’s easier than ever to make delicate soufflés or crispy skin salmon. There are infinite ways you can cook using an air fryer and we hope these recipes to try making a recipe you’ve never attempted before!
