Starbucks Is Releasing A New Drink, But Is Annoying People With A Puzzle First

Grab your magnifying glasses, internet sleuths. Starbucks has gone cryptic and is currently driving fans crazy. The coffee chain uploaded a series of puzzling tweets to the Starbucks Instagram earlier today, April 23rd, leaving customers trying to unravel the mystery. An old favorite is coming back to the Starbucks menu — but which old favorite is it?

“@Starbucks STOP PLAYING AND BRING BACK THE [redacted],” one tweet from May 2018 reads. Another from June 2018 reads, “BRING BACK THE [redacted] YOU COWARDS.”

Is it just us, or does Starbucks’s Instagram feed look a lot like the censored Mueller Report?

So, what’s with all the mystery? What drink name has Starbucks blurred out of each tweet? Although we’re all currently scratching our heads, some people think they know what’s coming. Some believe the S’mores Frappuccino may be making the ultimate comeback.

First, followers began speculating that Starbs was bringing back the Cool Lime Refresher, yet another favorite from the good old days of summer Starbucks drinks. However, that name clearly didn’t fit in the blurred spaces. So, it was back to the drawing board.

Luckily, Starbucks dropped a few hints for us to pick up along the way. Take note of the fire emojis in this first Instagram post:

And now take a look at the sun emojis in this second upload. Are things starting to come together?

Finally, fans felt confident that the mystery drink in question is the S’mores Frapp, after this final slide in Starbucks’s Instagram Stories. That chocolate bar emoji is the smoking gun.

Starbucks has yet to confirm if our suspicions are correct. But it would be cruel to string us along this far and not give us the S’mores Frapp.

People are freaking out about its potential return. Starbucks better bring it back if they know what’s good for them.

We all know summer is better with a S’Mores Frapp in hand. Do your thing, Starbucks.

Okay, smarty pants. You’ve won the detective-of-the-day award.

For those of you who have forgotten how good the S’Mores Frappuccino is (and if you have, how dare you?), it’s a blended coffee drink made with “marshmallow-infused whipped cream, milk chocolate sauce, a creamy blend of vanilla, coffee, milk and ice,” and is “finished off with more marshmallowy whipped cream and a graham cracker crumble,” as Starbucks’s website reads. “(No campfire necessary.)”

And. It’s. Damn. Good.

The drink is currently labelled as a “discontinued” seasonal offering on the website. But we have a feeling that’s about to change.

Although, that doesn’t mean that people still aren’t wishing and hoping for other discontinued items to return. The Cool Lime Refresher is still a much raved about item.

As is the Mango Black Tea Lemonade. Sorry, guys. We think you’re in the minority here.

But we suppose Starbucks could potentially handle a double drop? Starbs — care to comment?

Starbucks has yet to confirm that the returning item is, in fact, the S’Mores Frappuccino. But let’s be honest. We know what’s coming.

How can you not get excited for this? Summer is going to be totally sweet.

Stay tuned into the Starbucks Instagram for the official release, and good detective work out there today, champs. You deserve this marshmallowy reward.
