Starbucks’s New Summer Drinks Will Make Your Mouth Pucker

Starbucks new Teavana Lemonade

Quick question — did spring actually happen? I feel like it went right from winter to summer this year. But, the calendar is telling me that summer actually began on June 21st. And the humidity is confirming that, 100%. Good thing Starbucks is better equipped than I am, as they just revealed new drinks that’ll help you handle the heat.

The three new drinks are also pretty well known for pairing with summer. They’re members of the Teavana lemonade family, and their flavors really kick standard lemonade up a notch. PopSugar writes that the three flavors are going to be Peach Green Tea Lemonade, Blueberry Black Tea Lemonade, and Guava White Tea Lemonade. Sorry, neighborhood kid on the corner with a lemonade stand — these win out. (But still, good business hustle.)

All of them sound like winners, meaning that it may be tough to figure out which lemonade to try first. Good thing summer just started, since it’ll give you plenty of time to sample.

Personally, the Blueberry Black Tea Lemonade seems like the clear winner. Blueberries are more or less known as a superfruit, and even though the drink doesn’t have the same health benefits as the real thing, they’re still quite refreshing.

Aside from the blueberry flavoring, this drink also includes liquid cane sugar. It’s then shaken with ice to help keep you refreshed and hydrated.

This drink contains 120 calories and 27 grams of sugar. But surely, if you’re trying to cut down on your sugar intake, you can try to make substitutions to fit your needs.

Good thing that Starbucks has always been great about substitutions. It’s one of the reasons why they’ve pretty much dominated the coffee (and tea) industry.

It’s already creating quite a fanbase. Do you think this blueberry tea may someday be the PSL for the summertime?

It already has competition. Remember, it’s only one of three drinks.

Here’s what you should know about the Guava White Tea Lemonade. Instead of blueberry, it contains a guava-flavored blend.

Starbucks refers to this drink as being “boldly flavored.” At 29 grams, It contains just a little more sugar than its blueberry counterpart.

Guava White Tea Lemonade sounds like the perfect drink to sip on when you’re reading the last few chapters of a book, and just need a little extra caffeine to keep on going. It also seems like a good selection to drink after dinner, if you’re not totally feeling dessert.

Finally, there’s the Peach Green Tea Lemonade. The flavors added to this one seem to resemble summer the most.

Does it sound familiar? It’s a flavor that international Starbucks have experimented with before.

It was also present in the United States just a few years ago. Starbucks seemingly cut it when they got rid of their peach syrup in 2017. Is there anything better than getting an old favorite back?

It’s also highly Instagrammable. Maybe not as much as the blueberry drink, but definitely more than the guava. (Sorry, guava — you’re still a champion selection.)

So, what are you waiting for? These drinks are already on their menu, meaning that they’re likely available at your local Starbucks.

Of course, if lemonade isn’t your thing? Iced coffee is always a good backup.

Even though coffee isn’t quite as seasonal, it’s still a drink that can be made cold and will get you through these heatwaves.

Because even though the Starbucks and Teavana union means the company is pretty competent with both beverages, coffee will always be the drink that got them where they are today.
