The 2018 Olympics were held in PyeongChang, South Korea. In honor of the games and the hosting country, here is a quick rundown of what some athletes might be chomping on.
Bulgogi
Bulgogi is grilled and marinated beef barbecue. It is grilled with onions and garlic, wrapped in lettuce, and topped with ssamjang, which is a spicy red paste.
Taking home the gold!
Bibimbap
Do you like rice? Well, that’s not all this bibimbap has to offer. You can also find veggies, mushrooms, beef, soy sauce, gochujang, and a fried egg in this Korean dish.
Works hard for four years and is still just rice.
Seolleongtang
This soup is made from ox bone, ox meat, brisket, and seasoned to your liking. Seolleongtang is known to be chewy and soft textured.
This one is still under review by the judges.
Samgyetang
Well, you will find an entire chicken in this soup. It will most likely be filled with garlic, rice, jujube, and ginseng.
Rocking that bronze medal.
Japchae
Stir-fried noodles and vegetables. Cellophane noodles are what makes Japchae a hot commodity.
It’s an honor just to compete.
