Caviar McNuggets and Heart-Shaped Pizza Hit Fast Food for Valentine’s Day

McDonald’s is transforming a viral TikTok trend into a Valentine’s Day reality with free McNugget Caviar kits. The limited-edition offering pairs a one-ounce tin of Paramount’s Baerii Sturgeon caviar with a $25 gift card for McNuggets, plus crème fraîche and a mother-of-pearl caviar spoon. The kits drop exclusively at McNuggetCaviar.com on February 10 at 11 a.m. ET, and supplies are limited.
The pairing isn’t as random as it sounds. Celebrity chef David Chang has repeatedly spoken about his love for caviar on fried chicken and Popeyes biscuits, while pop star Rihanna downed caviar and chicken nuggets in a 2024 TikTok video. McDonald’s said it drew inspiration directly from social media users who have been celebrating the high-low combination for years. A one-ounce tin of Siberian sturgeon caviar typically costs $85 on Paramount’s website.
Fast food doesn’t usually win big on Valentine’s Day. The National Restaurant Association reports that only Mother’s Day drives more restaurant traffic, with casual sit-down spots seeing the biggest boost when Valentine’s falls on a weekday. Fast-food chains typically see smaller sales bumps, but McDonald’s isn’t the only one rolling out special promotions to compete this year.
Heart-Shaped Everything Floods Menus Across Chains

Pizza chains have rolled out heart-shaped pies at wildly different price points. Papa John’s and Pizza Hut are both offering heart-shaped options, with Pizza Hut’s large one-topping version running $11.99 through February 22. Marco’s Pizza starts at $7.99 for a one-topping pie, available February 12 through 14, while Papa Murphy’s charges $11 for a large cheese or pepperoni HeartBaker from February 1 through Valentine’s Day.
Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Wings offers a heart-shaped cheese pizza for $19.99 from February 10 through 15, available for dine-in, takeout, or delivery. The chain also has a $39.99 Valentine’s bundle that includes spinach and artichoke dip, a large salad, a 16-inch heart-shaped cheese pizza, and a Nutella pizza, though that one’s dine-in only.
California Pizza Kitchen brought back its Sweet Deal for Two from February 9 to 15. The $60 package includes a three-course meal with one starter, two entrees, and one dessert. Pizzas like BBQ Chicken, Hawaiian, Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage, and Sicilian come on thin, heart-shaped crusts during Valentine’s week. Diners get a bounce-back buy-one-get-one card valid starting February 16, Food Network reported.
White Castle Turns Slider Joints Into Candlelit Dining Rooms

White Castle has maintained its Valentine’s dining tradition for 35 consecutive years, converting 300 locations into full-service Love Castles. The AP reported that some restaurants are already fully booked for the evening. The slider chain offers hostess seating, tableside service, and Valentine’s Day décor, proving that even budget-friendly fast food brands can compete for couples seeking affordable alternatives to pricey Valentine’s dinner reservations.
Heart shapes aren’t just for pizza. Chick-fil-A serves nugget orders in heart-shaped trays, while Auntie Anne’s offers a heart-shaped soft pretzel. Jack in the Box is giving away heart-shaped straws, and Hardee’s is making heart-shaped biscuits. Even convenience stores are participating, with 7-Eleven offering heart-shaped donuts and $14 off delivery orders during the Valentine’s season.
Mountain Mike’s Pizza is bringing back customizable heart-shaped large pizzas with any toppings throughout February, alongside its Sweetheart Cherry Pie Dessert Pizza. The dessert features a heart-shaped crust brushed with butter and topped with real fruit, cherry pie filling, and crème anglaise frosting drizzle. Peter Piper Pizza is running its heart-shaped pepperoni pizzas through March 1 at participating locations, donating $1 from each sale to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
Fast Food Fights for a Slice of Valentine’s Spending

Limited drops like the McNugget Caviar kits help fast food compete on Valentine’s Day. Casual diningt restaurants usually dominate the holiday, but these collaborations create buzz without committing to permanent menu changes.
Valentine’s offerings this year are in a $53 price range, from Marco’s $7.99 entry point to California Pizza Kitchen’s $60 multi-course experience. Papa Murphy’s $11 take-and-bake model offers yet another approach, letting customers create restaurant-style ambiance at home without the casual dining price tag. The variety reflects different strategies for capturing Valentine’s spending across budget levels and dining preferences.
The caviar kits won’t reach many people, but that’s almost beside the point. The promotion gets McDonald’s into the Valentine’s Day conversation the same way chocolates and roses do, except a little fancier. Whether it’s a $7.99 heart-shaped pizza or caviar on McNuggets, fast food is making a play for Valentine’s spending (and your attention) in 2026.
