The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of Endico brand frozen peas and carrots, as well as mixed vegetables, over concerns they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The products were distributed across seven states and Washington, D.C. Although no illnesses have been reported so far, health officials warn that Listeria infections can pose severe risks, particularly for vulnerable groups such as young children, the elderly, and pregnant women.

The recall covers 2.5-pound frozen bags of Endico brand peas and carrots and mixed vegetables. Both products were packaged in clear plastic bags under the Endico label.

The impacted bags can be identified by specific lot codes and production dates printed on the side of the package: Peas and carrots – Lot 110625, production date 6/11/25, use by 6/10/27; Mixed vegetables – Lot 170625, production date 6/17/25, use by 6/16/27.
Distribution Areas
According to the FDA, the recalled vegetables were distributed between July 18 and August 4, 2025, reaching stores and distributors in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Florida.
Reason for the Recall
The problem was first detected during routine testing by the state of Pennsylvania at a distributor facility. Samples of the finished products tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, prompting Endico to halt further distribution and notify the FDA.

Listeria monocytogenes is a harmful bacterium that can cause serious infections. While healthy adults may only experience flu-like symptoms such as fever, nausea, and diarrhea, those with weakened immune systems face a higher risk of life-threatening complications.
