Ben & Jerry’s New Cookie Dough Bites Are Ruining All Other Sweet Snacks For Us

Ben & Jerry’s is pretty much known as the friend whose shoulder you can cry on — in dessert form. Did you just get a bad grade on a midterm? Ben & Jerry’s will soothe your pain. In the midst of a breakup? Well, two men are here for you — Ben and Jerry. I could go on, but might as well get straight to the point. Ben & Jerry’s is putting out a brand new item, and it’s not ice cream. But still, it’s kind of an essential.

The famous brand is releasing their own brand of cookie dough. And even better — it’s bite-sized. According to Thrillist, two different types of cookie dough will hit select shelves. If you’re fans of their cookie dough ice cream, you’re probably pretty familiar with the product already.

They’re just like the chunks you’d find in a pint, yet in a totally different package. A half-pound bag, if you want to get real with it. While we’ve all fooled ourselves into believing that a pint is a serving size, the same can’t be said about these cookie dough chunks.

Technically there are eight servings per bag. Or, uh — three, if it’s been a bad day.

“But isn’t cookie dough unsafe?” you may ask. Well, if you’re making it at home — yes. But Ben & Jerry’s cares about safety and made sure to use pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour, making them safe for consumption.

The two flavors they’re going with are peanut butter and chocolate chip. And, well, kudos to them for making the right choice.

And now, the bad news. Right now, they’re only available in their home state of Vermont. But who knows? Cookie Dough in ice cream became a thing after a fan suggested it decades ago, so maybe the company would be open to making it available nationwide if there was enough demand. And if not? Hey — now we have all the more reason to travel to Vermont.

Here at So Yummy, we have a passion for all things cookie dough. Behold:
