People Are Furious At Chris Evans’ Ranking Of His Favorite Chips

Didn’t he learn from Chrissy Teigen? Even though his opinion is definitely valid, actor Chris Evans made a colossal mistake by ranking snacks online. What can we say? When you talk about snacks, you’re just opening yourself up for criticism.

Now, we’re all familiar with the fun pack of popular chips, perfect for school lunches or as a quick snack to end a tough day.

In the standard lineup, you have two of the original flavors of Doritos, Fritos, Lay’s barbecue chips, Lay’s plain chips, and Cheetos. Now, based on personal experience (and my pantry right now), some bags have chili-flavored Fritos. Others contain Sour Cream and Onion Lay’s, and some contain puffy Cheetos.

But, those were out of this particular running.

The debate started thanks to actor and comedian Kevin Fredericks, who goes by the Twitter handle of KevOnStage. By posting a video that confirmed which variety pack he was discussing, he ended up starting an all-out war. Evans wasn’t the only person who responded, but his tweet was one of the most controversial.

Even so, he stood by it, saying he’s not looking for replies. He stood by his own truth, which, you have to admit, is pretty admirable.

When Evans chimed in, he did get some support.

Again, his ranking isn’t super crazy, especially for fellow fans of Doritos.

It’s been no secret that he’s a fan of Cool Ranch. This picture is more powerful than any commercial.

Evans was even on the front of a Cool Ranch bag at one time, in his Captain America gear.

To him, that may have been the actor equivalent of an athlete getting to appear on a box of Wheaties.

But, people could just sense that hate would come Evans’ way. Again, ranking chips is serious business.

One of the most notable people who chimed in? Monica Lewinsky.

As you probably guessed, Chris Evans fans were taken aback that the world’s most notable intern happened to disagree.

But Lewinsky’s take is controversial, going so far as to rank Cool Ranch Doritos last.

Still, she sparked outrage.

Partially because she sported a bit of a Twitter tone with Captain America (which is kind of refreshing, to be honest).

Luckily, Questlove was on Team Cool Ranch, giving Evans a little bit of needed support.

But, he showed no love for original Lay’s.

Sure, they may be the blandest out of the options listed. But when they’re served in a bowl at a party, do you ever refuse to sneak one (especially if dip is involved)?

Even though Lewinsky’s list was incredible, people had to point out that she didn’t really play the game correctly.

It wasn’t a contest of best snack of all time — it was a comparison of what was in that particular arrangement. (Otherwise, surely we’d hear more love for Sour Cream and Onion, right?)

Standard Fritos got a surprising amount of hate online. It’s shocking, since much like the regular Lay’s chip, they’re pretty versatile.

If you’re looking for a chip you can eat for dinner without all the guilt, you’re looking at Fritos.

But, people’s opinions have already been formed.

One mom even coined a hilarious term that you may end up using in your own household. Seriously, I can’t stop laughing.

Snack struggle aside, Evans still ranked them fourth. So either he doesn’t mind a Frito, or he just really doesn’t care for potato chips.

The one celebrity he did respond to was Octavia Spencer, who was more concerned over the fact that he didn’t crown Cheetos as being the #1 choice.

It’s a solid contender, for sure.

Evans wrote out a heartfelt explanation. Again, it was a tough choice, but he’s got a pretty intimate relationship with Cool Ranch.

I guess at the end of the day, we all need to agree to disagree.

The chips come in a variety pack for a reason — because we all have different tastes. Just know that if you happen to be at a party and want an in with Chris Evans, a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos is all you need.
