Pretty soon, we’ll be able to drink the rainbow. And TBH, we’re not sure how to feel about that. According to Instagram junk food reviewer @JunkFoodMom, Skittles water is headed to shelves in the near future, and our teeth already hurt. Aren’t Kool-Aid and Coca-Cola enough to quench a sugary drink lover’s thirst? Apparently not.
“Coming soon… New Skittles Singles To Go,” @JunkFoodMom captioned a May 22nd Instagram post. “Little tubes of flavored powder that you mix in a standard sized bottle of water. Strawberry, Orange, Green Apple and Grape. Now we not only taste the rainbow… we can drink the rainbow.”
Those who dare try the Skittles Singles To Go can choose from the four classic Skittles flavors, or perhaps mix two together to create a new, unique taste. And of course, the sweetness can be adjusted depending on how much powder you add to your water.
Suspiciously, the Skittles Singles To Go are sugar-free. How exactly can a drink powder based on the sweetest candy ever be free of sugar? We’re not entirely sure. The powders are probably sweetened with chemical alternatives, since the box doesn’t flaunt any “all-natural” or “organic” marketing. So be aware of that before you try.
In the comments section of her post, @JunkFoodMom said that she didn’t get the opportunity to try the Singles To Go — just the box was on display. So it looks like we’ll have to wait until they officially hit shelves to read reviews.
Many people in the comments aren’t sure about this new creation. We didn’t really ask for Skittles water, and we’re not completely sure we want to give it a go.
If you’ve ever been curious about how Skittles-flavored water tastes, you could literally just eat Skittles and drink water at the same time. Easy.
Skittles and cold water be tasting like kool aid😂

Or just down a Key Lime LaCroix, according to this Twitter user. Noted.
Although the Skittles Singles To Go packets sound appealing, that sugar-free nonsense is leaving a bad taste in some peoples’ mouths. We have to agree with you there.
But others are excited to give these flavor packets a try. Pairing this stuff with vodka for a summertime cocktail is honestly genius.
Although… Skittles vodka is already a thing. And it’s really easy to make.
All one has to do is put Skittles in a bottle of vodka, let the mixture infuse, and bang: Skittles vodka is ready for enjoyment.
This is the kind of rainbow we like to see (and taste). It’s just so pretty.
In fact, Skittles uploaded a video to Instagram showing off how to make Skittles Red, White, & Blue slushies in honor of Memorial Day. Fourth of July is coming, people!
Truth be told, we much prefer the idea of eating our Skittles like usual rather than drinking them. Sorry not sorry.
So, will we be trying the Skittles Singles To Go? Probably not.
But if you do, tell us how you like them and which flavor is your favorite. And then maybe, if you like them, we’ll give them a try.
Until then, we’re fine eating our Skittles the old-fashioned way. And yes, we down Skittles by the bathtub.
Keep your eyes out for Skittles water, and ready yourself to drink the rainbow.
