Even though each Stranger Things season takes years to come out, it’s still got a hold on us. That’s why we’re ranking all seven Stranger Things ice cream flavors.
U.S.S. Butterscotch
No, we’re not putting this one first because it was mentioned in the show. You can never go wrong with butterscotch, and U.S.S. Butterscotch proves that right.
With this flavor, you not only get butterscotch — you get salted caramel, too. If that’s not a win-win, we don’t know what is.
There’s also salted caramel-flavored chocolate chunks in there, giving the ice cream a boost of both flavor and texture. 10/10, would eat a whole pint in one sitting.
Triple Decker Extravaganza
“Triple Decker Extravaganza” sounds cool, but it gives absolutely no hints as to what’s in it. That is, if you haven’t seen Stranger Things.
Fans will know that this flavor is inspired by Eleven’s Eggo waffle masterpiece. So, of course it’s got waffle chunks, maple flavoring, and chocolate peanut butter candies.
This is an especially delicious flavor if you love chunky ice cream. It’s not called an “extravaganza” for nothing — it’ll throw a party in your mouth.
Chocolate Pudding
This kind of tastes like chocolate pudding — and dark chocolate. I’m telling you, dark chocolate lovers get nothing, so this ice cream wins in my book.
Still, it doesn’t have that little extra something that the previous two flavors have. Chocolate ice cream is chocolate ice cream — delicious, sure, but nothing special.
We recommend this for pudding fans, specifically. This ice cream kind of has a consistency similar to pudding, which you’ll definitely appreciate if you like that dessert.
Cinnamon Bun Bytes
This Stranger Things ice cream flavor is nothing too special. It has a decent cinnamon flavor, but it might not be as chunky as the name suggests.
As you can probably guess, cinnamon lovers will like this flavor. There’s also cream cheese and cinnamon roll dough, for an extra oomph.
Listen, all that is well and good. But it’s nothing to call home about. I have my preferred flavors, and I’m sticking to them.
Mint Flare
Mint chocolate chip, but with a twist — a really pink twist. Scoops Ahoy’s Mint Flare is infused with both chocolate chips and rainbow confetti.
While this ice cream isn’t bad, it’s just not as good as the others. It does stand out from other mint chocolate chip flavors, though.
We don’t necessarily recommend against trying it. But you’d probably be better off with another Scoops Ahoy flavor. Mint Flare is a whole lot of “meh.”
The Void
This Stranger Things ice cream flavor sounds way cooler than it actually is. It’s the opposite of Triple Decker Extravaganza — all style and no substance.
You’d think that this would be a super unique ice cream flavor, but nope. It’s just regular vanilla, dyed black. It’s got strawberry flavoring, but it’s not enough.
Ultimately, The Void is ranked so low because there’s such a big mismatch between how it looks and how it tastes. It can’t be anything but a letdown.
Pineapple Upside Down
Out of all the Stranger Things ice cream flavors, this one’s got to be the worst. Some might say it’s underrated, but I say it’s just plain bad.
Don’t get me wrong — pineapple, pound cake, and salted caramel seem like a great combo. But the ratio of ice cream to cake isn’t even enough.
If you’re making an ice cream based off of pineapple upside down cake, you’ve got to have more cake in it. And pineapple. This flavor just doesn’t deliver.
Stranger Things Ice Cream Flavors: Which One’s Your Fave?
So, what did you think of our rankings? Do you agree with us? Or are you up in arms on Pineapple Upside Down’s behalf?
Regardless of how you feel, I hope that we can all agree on The Void. Just a really underwhelming and disappointing ice cream all around.
