THIS Is How Grocery Stores Should Sell Bananas — Someone Please Take Note

grocery store bananas

There’s something special about bananas. Think about it — have you ever met anyone who doesn’t like bananas? Not only are they high in potassium, which helps your nerves and your heart, but they’re also delicious. And cheap! Trader Joe’s is known for selling bananas at 19 cents each, and other stores also market them at a very low cost. But still, there’s one improvement on the banana that could be made — and it’s all in the packaging.

At a Korean supermarket, bananas were seen being sold by ripeness. That means the extra yellow ones were to the left, while the still-greens were on the right. Brilliant, right? The way they’re sold today, they’re either all yellow (which means you’ve got to eat them fast, unless you’re planning to make banana bread) or all green. Ever wait days to dive into your banana bunch? It’s not the best feeling. Sure, eating them while they’re slightly green is possible, but everyone knows it’s not as good.

By the time you’re ready for it, that green banana on the right will be ripe and perfect. For those who eat bananas every day, this method ensures that you’ll always be matched with a quality banana in the morning.

It’s a little odd to see bananas packaged up in plastic, but aside from that, it’s truly a work of art. And it was already a beautiful fruit to begin with. With this method, you may never come face-to-face with a brown banana ever again.

Just imagine if all produce was packaged this way. There’d be a lot less waste and guilt, and perhaps we’d all be eating a little healthier. How about it, America?
