UPDATE (Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 at 12:03pm PST): According to Business Insider, McDonald’s will officially be adding the cheesy bacon fries to their U.S. menu in early 2019.

Back in the day, Burger King tried hard to renovate their French fries — but still fell short. Sure, they were a great way to accompany a Whopper, but there was no way that they’d find a way to dethrone McDonald’s, who’ve been known for their delicious fries for decades. There’s just something about a McDonald’s fry that’ll always leave you hungry for more. And when you hear about the new fries they’re testing in select markets, you’ll be craving them in a brand new way.

Chew Boom reports that McDonald’s is trying out cheesy bacon fries at select locations in Hawaii, Fresno California, Northern California, Northern Nevada, and Lake Tahoe. They’re reportedly everything you love about their standard fry, but with an extra spin. Since cheese fries are so common — and bacon is beloved by most — it’s kind of surprising that the company waited so long to unleash what’s sure to be a hit.

Of course, that’s what their market research is for — to see if customers will be into the new product. If so, they may even go nationwide, which is pretty exciting for fans on the East Coast.

All of this time, we’ve been dipping our fries in plain old ketchup, so this change feels good.

As you can see, the fries come in a box that’s unlike the standard container you see for fries. Not going to lie, they look really amazing.

It seems like those who’ve stumbled across them can’t help but post on Instagram. Since it’s one of the biggest changes American McDonald’s locations have made to their fries in a long time, it makes sense why people are so excited.

The fries will run between $3.50 and $3.75 if you find them in a test location. A price like that makes it even easier to try out these cheesy taters — not like you needed any convincing.
